All the Pete Solo albums have at least a bright spot or two.

This was the final year of my time playing with toys. I had EVERY ONE of these but NONE the next year. I think Nintendo took over my life at 10

Love and Rockets! What I personally consider the best independent comic of all time. And it’s amazing how I can’t really choose one Hernandez brother over the other. Equally amazing in completely different ways.

HELP finding cool comic, record, or toy shops in Chicago. I’m going next weekend to see my White Sox in the ALCS and I want to hit up some nerd stuff while I’m there

It was Dick Ayers for me. Now I can’t get enough of him

I aquired a huge run of this stuff in a collection. And I understand art is up to taste. BUT, I flipped thru these and it looked like something you would expect a 15 year old kid wearing a black trench coat would draw on binder paper at the back of English class. Crude and gratuitous to the max.

This person is just under 25. When they are older they will realize no music created after you are 25 is any good. That’s the rule.

I dig that one. I love her and have seen all her movies. She’s super charming and hilarious. Huge fan.

A good smart time travel movie is my jam. Both Coherence and Primer are that. Micro budget so they have to rely on nothing but a great script which they both have

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Outdoor movie night with my movie boys tonight. I’ve seen it before but they haven’t and they both liked Weapons so I’m showing them this one. I really liked it, both halves, which are very different movies lol

000

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

That is a cool movie. I really like it and Coherence and Primer from that list too

I think DD wins the award for going up against the most schmuck villains in the Silver and Bronze Age. Sooooo many villains who never appeared anywhere ever again. Iron Man wins the silver medal in this contest.

I have picked this up and the following issue to give to all my comic loving buddies. It was my favorite story when I was a kid. My 8 year old self was convinced The Steel Serpent was going to actually kill Spidey and Iron Fist for real. Also probably why Byrne is my GOAT

Homage covers are soooooooo played. Why is no one trying to make a cover that GETS homages, instead of just regurgitating something to stimulate the “memberries”?

This is my favorite 21st Century horror Icon. Each of these movies is so much fun. Pressurized blood genre gem.

I think some day I may sell all my comics except my Amazings and Uncanny and try to complete my uncle Scrooges and then call it a life. I have the most expensive 2-3 and a lot of bronze and modern but missing a lot of golden and silver age.

Very cool. Punk records are so hard to find. And always pricey. I am working on a Lookout Records collection myself.

110

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Sounds like heaven. What kind of records are you collecting? Any specific like sub genres or labels?

110

I simultaneously think this is so stupid to have, and also am low key jealous.

Ducktales was the gateway for a lot of us to then seek out Scrooge comics. What’s his beef with Ducktales?

No Luna huh? Great to some L&R love on one of these

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Ayers and Severin don’t get talked about enough IMO. They were super important to Silver and Bronze Marvel and the casual fan probably has never heard their names. Ayers SGT. Fury alone is criminally underrated

Is this one of the Miracleman trades that used to go for hundreds of dollars ?

250

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

It’s honestly not very easy new people to pick up. As far as games of its ilk it’s rules are the worst lol but I just keep at it because the comic aspect of it more than the gaming of it.

I was and still am. I play once a month with a few longtime friends. Next game I got a sweet Gotham City team all ready to go

100

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 13/07/2026

The only team that is surprising more people is the one at the top of those standings. It’s going to be a fun second half

If you ever find the comics that came in the Gas Huffer records I’m your buyer

020

This was around the time DC was doing all kinds of cool different things like Manhunter, Chase, and Chronos all which I also thoroughly enjoyed

Anyone else reading the current runs of Batman or Detective? I just got caught up Taylor’s Detective and now I’m about to binge Fraction’s Batman. Taylor is so much fun. His Batman is the first since Tynion that didn’t bore me to tears.

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 30/05/2026

I really liked the Brian Azarello run in the back half

010

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 20/05/2026

I was 10 when this came out and this will always be my X-Men. I don’t think I’ve ever loved any other story, movie film book whatever, more than Claremont Silvestri X-Men

270

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 08/05/2026

Batman and Detective have not both been this good at the same time Since Rucka and Brubaker were doing their thing.

020

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 08/03/2026

“Only long box comics”?? That would be a reason to go there. The fact you lump back issues in with funko and blind boxes is atrocious

100

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 26/02/2026

Unless you have read a lot of Bronze Age, I don’t think you truly appreciate how bad ass he was. Legend

What’s your Love and Rockets collection look like?

000

Bronze Age Goals @superdoug77.bsky.social · 18/02/2026

I’ve found the best palate cleanser each night before bed to make the horrible world go away and get a good night’s sleep: A single issue of Don Rosa’s Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. It took me YEARS to track all these down but it was worth it! This art is awesome
