I have checked EchoFeed and it seems that I am paid until February 2027 so I do not necessarily need to make radical changes. It has made me reconsider what my workflow looks like. What I liked most about using EchoFeed was that my Pika blog was the source of truth that was then shared to other pla

I’m working hard to break some habits of using tech (again). First I removed social media (Tapestry) from my Home Screen and only have apps I need that don’t distract me. I have no way of managing much more other than self regulation. For example I can only change my wallpaper/home screen on Fri

Today is a big day! Last year, we had a family member diagnosed with cancer. It hit us hard financially and halted work. While one of us was busy taking care of family, we decided it was best to use the time building a new version of another app. We are excited to release PB 3! tapbots.com/pastebot/

Whilst travelling I ordered a Remarkable Paper Pure and yesterday I picked it up from my parents’ house. I only had a short play but already I can see it is way better than a Kindle Scribe. The unboxing, the setup, the functionality and the cross-platform integration were all better. Now to find o

Yesterday I captured this great photo of a Red-Bellied Black Snake. About 30 minutes later a 1m long one slithered about 20cm in front of me as I walked down a bush track. Highly venomous? Yes they are - I live Australia!

Australia Just Set the Terms for AI
Earlier this week, the Prime Minister delivered a one-two punch on copyright and data centres: two of the most contentious national conversations on AI. Speaking at the University of Sydney, Anthony Albanese announced a set of national Australian standards for AI: a single framework covering copyright, data centres, energy, water, and the workforce, coordinated by a new Office of AI inside the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, with legislation to be brought to Parliament early next year.

Dark icons are more consistent than light, most having a dark background with a coloured object/logo central to the squircle. Clear icons are a great way to keep your device distraction-free and focus on the wallpaper. There is no right answer here but since iOS 26, I have never stuck with light ico

I think I need to stop pointing out my opinion so much. It’s like I feel like I need to be correct about decisions I have made and others could agree. Recent offenders have been Halide (I even got a refund on my sub) and Tapestry. I will say that at least Tapestry does what is on the box with a fe

I have a theory that humans want to always have something in their hands to fidget with. It’s not a new thing, just an inherent behaviour. It could be a book, a glass/mug/bottle, a Rubik’s cube or even a fidget toy. The reason that everyone uses a “phone” all the time is because it is the ul

One great example of the social media ban failing in Australia is that my 12 year daughter cannot get a YouTube account. Now she sees completely random junk when using the site.
