Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I must be living under a rock because I hadn't heard this before, and now you're my favorite person today! 000
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 02/10/2026On occasions like these, I thank the staff on my way out. Sure, some people might thing I'm strange, but the staff always seem to appreciate the note of appreciation! 010
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I haven't been keeping up! I'm happy for the field notes. 141
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Only a great writer with a superlative GIF game could really pull this off! 010
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 29/09/2026My spouse and I almost never dine out, and our spice rack, pantry, and freezer are well-packed with ingredients. We have about 30 perishable staples we like, and just routinely get those. After three decades, I guess we've achieved a hybrid state between spontaneous and planned. 000
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Seriously! We had accumulated 3# of carrots in the fridge, and I went on a little carrot-palooza: sautéed matchstick ginger & garlic carrots, marinated copper penny carrots, and good old carrots sticks for noshing. Saved some for lentil soup. It's like music for me. 1190
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 25/09/2026If you're gonna bring an iced coffee to an interview, ask me if I would like one as well. 000
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Oh nuts. I say you deserve a nice box of pad Thai when you finally get out of there. 010
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 24/09/2026People say Trump is canny, but how can you not know you are kowtowing? 000
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 24/09/2026It's so obvious that you can't even call it a shibboleth. 020
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Well, it's clear that Fox News sees a post-TRUMP, post-MAGA world. They want to keep getting their bread buttered. 000
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Looking forward to reading tonight or maybe on my lunch break. For now: fantastic title! I love it to bits. 110
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Cooking is quite a bit like it! I get a perverse thrill from denaturing proteins on purpose when making meringue. 211
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Well, I'm thinking about biochemistry because that's what I'm actually doing today! 121
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 17/09/2026No one older than 72 should ever be seated for federal offices. 100
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I love everything about this including (and I'm paraphrasing) "Oh shoot, missed the split because I've been chatting." 010
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 13/09/2026She technically is, but I don't think she engages here (but we are spoiled by Tom). 100
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 12/09/2026He's gonna swap his head for George Washington's at the last minute. 000
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Sharing to read later. I can post a gift link. Big Tech Fooled America Once. Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Everyone should read or listen to every letter in full. 050
Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 12/09/2026This was particularly good. Every last article you write is well worth reading, but the scope of this one combined with its brevity (compared to a book), simply shows mastery. No other word for it. 000
Reposted by TwistTom Nichols @radiofreetom.bsky.social · 11/09/20269/11 was traumatic for all Americans. But the U.S. and other governments panicked, and took their eyes off a lot of other threats for a while. We’re still living with the consequences of that panic. My look back at that day and what it brought: www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...theatlantic.comA Quarter Century of PanicAfter 9/11, the U.S. government was over-focused on fighting terrorism, losing sight of other threats. Twist @supercoiled.bsky.social · 04/09/2026The old East wing, but about twice as large as before. Include an event space that could seat 400 max for dinner (about 6000 sq ft). Reconstitute First Lady offices. Add area specifically for receiving military families with museum elements celebrating service (1000 sq ft, rooms of various sizes). 010
