I want to be optimistic about trajectory of performances but this team will always be liable to lose scrappy and even games because they don’t have a cutting edge, zero goal scoring pedigree, no physically dominating defenders. There comes a time when you have to look past ‘bad luck’ or clicking.

People need to stop judging individuals and look at the balance of the squad. We signed 4 defenders, all four are slow and three of them are poor on aerial duels. We left Richarlison out of the squad and absolutely no one else has any box presence. This squad building is a disaster.

Don’t like the links to Savinho again. His output is poor, ball striking really weak. Ambition would be signing stars who will be mainstays of 11 for the next 5 years, then using the academy to bolster the squad. Our squad already has too many players bought for big fees that we need to upgrade on.

Definitely time to cash in on Romero. Availability over 5 years has been poor & leadership has been mixed. He’s at an age where his value is at its peak, a good World Cup would help. Also think a profile like Danso, with his box defending/aerial dominance provides a better balance for the team.
