I was orphaned at 14. We received Social Security payments that enabled my sister to raise my brother and I and keep the family together. This was in 1970. This is not new and should never be stopped!

Jimmy Carter was the first president I voted for at the age of 20. He became the example that I have looked for in candidates since then. I may not always find that level of integrity and intelligence, but at least I use it as a guide.

Our local library is a beautiful building perched nearly on top of a hydroelectric dam. It has a fascinating view. Besides books, it also has ebooks available, computers, movies, meeting rooms, and both adult and children's programs.It is also a cooling station in heat waves.

I need to have my coffee within 5 minutes of waking up. I could not drive for it. My coffee is a manual drip made with my custom blend of beans ground just the night before and filtered water. It is strong and does not have any residues from a machine used in a commercial establishment.

I can't stand for people saying someone has "Christian values". Do they believe that all other types of people are bad ? Don't morals, ethics,honesty and kindness count? I strive to have those values in my life as do most other types of religions. I am an atheist. I will do you no harm!

I met a talking crow once for real. He was very polite. He said his name was Charlie and he asked how I was doing. I ran. I found out later he was hanging out at a local elementary school.
