Stuff sucks a lot right now. Anyway, what are you reading? I am reading "When Women Were Dragons" by Kelly Barnhill, which is beautiful and infuriating and subtle and so unique in format. More questions posed than answers given. Also using a perfect bookmark for this by @sunsetdragon.bsky.social

The cover of a library copy of "When Women Were Dragons" by Kelly Barnhill. A dragon with green scales, spines, and a slitted eye winds among several varieties of purple flowers, and a waxing crescent moon rests in the top right corner.

Selected text from the book:

"There are moments, I think, in a person's life, when everything changes. Relationships. Futures. Communities. Maybe even the whole world.
"Time, in our experience, is linear, but in truth time is also looped. It is like a piece of yarn, in which each section of the strand twists and winds around every other--a complicated and complex knot, in which one part cannot be viewed out of context from the others. Everything touches everything else. Everything affects everything else. Each loop, each bend, each twist interacts with every other. It is all connected, and it is all one."

Bookmark with art of a green and gold feathered meso-American style dragon in an elegant, regal pose, laid atop a page of the book. Three green hummingbirds appear to be squabbling with each other around the dragon.
