The best part of watching DnD actual plays is seeing the introduced mechanics of an evolving edition and being like, "Hm no that's actually really disruptive to the flow of the game" before you become a DM, unknowingly allow shit you will hate, and feeling like you can't change it much later on.

Jumping on the train without a repost. 😈 I did have a stipulation that I have had to finish the games to make the list -- something I only have done since getting older. That said, honourable mention to DK64, Pokémon Silver, Animal Crossing, Tony Hawk's Skateboarding, and Barbie Race n Ride lol.

Last night I learned you could use a net to catch bombs in #FieldsOfMistria Riddiku caught their first bomb and the game crashed immediately. (The creature I threw it at is right above the error message)

The Golden Axe is absolutely my taste in a swords and sorcery fantasy comedy, with some video-game logic meta humour. Every scene is working hard to make you laugh, just like golden era Simpsons. Highly recommend.

Thank you dreams. I was having Dungeon Master block. Last night I dreamed what I could do with all the pieces I've been fumbling with how to put together. Much better than what I was thinking.

Wanderstop was a little mind numbing, best described as an anti-game. Story based achievements only and nothing to do but talk and make tea. A bit of boredom was the point. No hoards of gathered fruits and money from optimisation. My next DnD character is basically Minotaur Poro.

Alta and Poro standing in conversation as he holds Alta's sword.

Every time I earn a Reddit achievement the text for the badge changes to "chronically online". Weird.

Making my way through Wanderstop. So far very cosy, and in the time management sense too. The premise of not being able to pick up a sword because of overworking to exhaustion is hitting close to home since I'm playing it through continued RSI pain (insert millennial lol). Stay calm and drink tea

My wee Pan went her own way on Thursday. My entire adult life revolved around her. I can feel my internal wiring trying to do our routines, but there is only absence. The tragedy of loving a pet is thinking you might be the only one who would cry for them in the end, but 16 years proved me wrong.

You know what, I don't hate Aang's growth spurt in Netflix's adaptation. This is his Z or Shippuden moment. In the original run, him growing hair in S3 was that moment.💈 Aang's breakneck mastery of the elements did used to take me out. A hundred years of war, so what's a few more years?

Man, I can't catch a break with sourcing the full Rise of the TMNT series. Even streaming they never have the second season. DVD? Nada. 2 seasons + movie, man. Say what you will about it, but to me it's the Teen Titans of the TMNT. Lots of originality, heart and humour. They went fucking HARD.

Vox Machina making me laugh and tearing my heart out since 2017. The recent animated season is great, and they all still feel like watching old friends. Still different from live play - I often think of it as the alt reality where Ashley J/Pike was available. Great season end. Immediate rewind 📼

I love finding games that introduce me to new ways to think about how battle can be representational and strategic. Honestly the best space for this is turn based games. I was on that 1st/3rd person action RPG juice at the start. You gotta slow down to appreciate how it can be done differently.

One day, I will be able to creatively output my disdain for modern culture. There's something to be said for the eccentric rulers of the past, who at least had a taste for colour, decoration and grandour. Hired talent for every pillar and cieling. Now we have corpo ogliarchs who inject nothing.

Yup. It may be damn quotable and the actors acted their heart out. It will not leave the collective hearts and minds of my generation. And she’s ruined my ability to share the adoration I once had for it. I do not believe in separating art from artist. Sometimes you consume stuff and it’s shitty.

Quick thoughts on the games I am playing at the moment. RDR2: 🤠 Not too easy but not hard at all, immersive, and beautiful. Also funny. Slay the Spire: 🗡 Addictive. Just one more run… Silksong: 🕷 Play if can handle high cortisol levels. Fucking hard. Baba is You: 🐑 Brain scratcher.

Watching the internet melt down at Silksong’s difficulty just makes me want to play it more. You see, I was already emotionally equipped to suffer. But certainly a good mindset must be had before playing. Hollow Knight was not a “relax after a bad day at work” game. So waiting for the weekend.
