Someone has this as their bluesky banner, and I'm unsure of whether I should take this as the likely meaning "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" or if it's an intentional call-to-action to speak up when there's nothing nice to say

The rabbit from Bambi with the text "If you can't say something nice. Don't say nothing at all."

I played Pokemon Gold Version all the time as a kid, as I kept my GameBoy topped up with batteries. Any time I had a boring afternoon I could start break it out and enjoy all my adventures with my Pokemon friends. It's sad what the series is today, but I still love this gem.

In canada we remove all our ice from our windshields with our hands...and backs and legs and a tool like this

Three windshield scrapers with attached brushes. Left to right they are coloured orange, red, and blue.

I hate this person. This was following a thread of them being petulant over someone using the term "American" to refer to USians.

I've been reading since I was 3 yrds old and achieved a Stanford-binet certified 142 I.Q. score at 12 yrs old. I'm like that "Detective Billy Mack, down in Texas, I know just exactly what the facts is."

Decided to try making a forum in rust today. Spent the whole afternoon figuring out the structure and writing basic methods for making and getting posts. Kinda exciting to see this in my commandline!

$[src/main.rs:72:2] sql.get_post(1) = Post { id: 1, thread: Thread { id: 1, forum: Forum { id: 0, title: "", description: "", }, title: "my title2", }, subject: "mysubject", body: "this is a subject! BOLD bopdy!", user: User { id: 1, name: "theusernameismine2", }, }$

The r/MiSTerFPGA subreddit took down my comment calling someone's AI slop output "AI slop" for not being respectful of their AI slop. Probably petty, but public loud pettiness keeps people knowing this shit's not acceptable.

Congrats to claude on the proof-of-concept. Really looking forward to someone making a core that does this in the future!

OpenStreetMap set "official_name:en-US" to Lake America. Almost every application uses for US users either "name:en" or "name:en-US", both of which remain Lake Ontario.

A screenshot from the openstreetmap wiki; reads as follows:

Key:official_name:en-US

This key indicates the official name of a feature in the English language according to authorities in the United States, in the rare event of a discrepancy or dispute between the U.S. and another country on a feature that is not wholly located within the U.S. This key is only necessary if the discrepancy specifically pertains to the name in English and there is additionally a discrepancy between official and common usage.

The canonical example is the Gulf of Mexico. The position of the U.S. federal government differs from both common usage within the U.S. and the international consensus maintained by the International Hydrographic Organization in Limits of Oceans and Seas.

This key does not override name:en=* or name:en-US=*. Few if any renderers consume official_name=* or any of its subkeys; in practice, the purpose of this key is for geocoders to find the feature when a user searches for the official name.

Rust-powered Brainfuck interpreter! Tbh the hard part was getting loops to work, and that's because I was silly. I've not done a BF interpreter since I was learning python back in the early 2010s, so it was fun to do it again.

A command line interface. First line is "cargo run --" followed by a string that executes a Hello, World! program in brainfuck.
Second through fifth line says they're compiling, finished, and running.
Final line says "Hello, World!"

Love to see my favourite video game store standing for what they believe in and putting their money where their mouths are.

Good Time Games
15h ·
A note for our Good Time Games community... We will not be taking pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI at this time.
We know GTA VI is going to be one of the biggest game launches in years, and we know many players are excited for it. This decision is not about the game itself, Rockstar, or anyone looking forward to playing.
It is about this version of the game.
Based on the information currently available, the boxed version of GTA VI is expected to include a download code rather than a physical game disc. A code in a box does not fit the way our store operates, and it does not offer the same long-term ownership, trade-in, resale, or collecting value our customers expect from a physical release.
Good Time Games is built around physical games. We buy, sell, trade, clean, and test them so they can keep being played, collected, and enjoyed.
If a true physical edition with a disc becomes available in the future, we would be happy to carry and support that version for our customers.
We love games. We love collectors. We love trade-ins. We love shelves full of cases that actually hold the game. This decision comes from that place.
Thank you for understanding, and thank you for continuing to support physical games.

Excuse me, but making a descriptively named list for people who are just here to ragebait is not "shaming user behaviour". It's describing it. Whoever approved this report belongs on the " Intentional Provocateurs" list too.

It's a weekend of change! I applied a Windows 95 theme to my PC, updated to the new OS version, switched all my websites to light-mode themes, and setup an old wifi router as a new networking switch. On top of that I've started brushing up on Rust again so I can turn my python scripts into suffering
