The amount of times us Iranians are beaten down just because of our ethnicity never fails to infuriate me. A fellow Iranian animator and artist just had her Kickstarter project suspended completely out of the blue. It’s heartbreaking

Above them, Joyce is wearing a dress in the colors of the bi flag, while Lizel is wearing one in the colors of the pan flag. They both blush as Joyce laughs and Lizel kisses her.

Right below the two is Vincent, whose shirt also features colors reminiscent of the bi flag. He's waving a mini pride flag.

Sometimes folks we look up to let us down. It's never easy, and I don't think I'll ever fault someone for looking up to others. When they let you down, the best you can do is uphold the principles you want in art and creation, and lift up those who champion them too.

When I look at creators in Indie Animation, I dont see the "inexperienced" or newbies who are "cringe". I see people who are willing to be vulnerable, willing to create at the expense of ridicule for the sake of their own inner worlds. That's what it means to be an artist, I think.
