For most of that year, I didn’t tell anyone. I didn’t want to burden them with my troubles. And, to be honest, I felt ashamed From finance to academia, on radio and TV and even in a Kings Cross sex shop, I’ve had a diverse range of jobs, most largely freelance, casual or contract. I loved doing new things, learning new skills and meeting new people. I was so busy for so long, with so many contracts overlapping each other, that I often didn’t have much time for anything else. Australia is leading the way by banning access to the covid vaccine for kids under 18. Only exception is if they have risk factors/severely immunocompromised - and in that case, good luck finding it because almost everywhere stopped stocking kids’ doses years ago due to lack of eligibility.

She was living in the Anglicare nursing home off Cleveland Street and still dancing – she had just filmed her first music video! She was so inspiring and cheeky – I remember her saying "Close the door, darling, that will give them something to talk about hahaha!"

I first met the irrepressible Eileen Kramer in 2014, just after she'd returned to Australia after 60 years dancing across the globe. She hadn't yet turned 100, and I hadn't yet started broadcasting my show Sunday Takeaway on ABC Radio.
