Lack of a good snowpack means we're at greater risk in CO/NM for fires, especially because of strong winds common at this time of year. If we don't start getting good snow soon, this could be a really bad fire year.

I emailed my congressman about a specific policy issue, PFAS remediation funding by the DoD & got back a form letter about how he's a outdoorsman, not answering my question at all. Jeff Crank is lucky I'm not charismatic enough to be a politician, otherwise I'd run against him in 2026 out of spite.

My first house was built in the 1960s, we were the second owners, and the previous owners did a lot of weird diy that was technically up to code in 1960. All the kitchen appliances weren't plugged in, they were wired into the house's electric system.

Re: recent reinstatement of the ban on trans service members: I have no words for how cruel it is that trans soldiers, airmen, sailors, etc were allowed to serve openly for a brief period only to have that yanked away. It must be so hard loving a country that clearly doesn't love you back.

I think a big issue here is most people don't want/feel the need to understand any of the real infrastructure that makes their way of life possible. Most people don't think about where their drains go or how water gets to the taps. They don't care to know so they have weird unrealistic expectations.
