couldn’t tell you where i’ve been the last just about 1 whole year in general (not just from here but from fandom writ large) but honestly i was able to focus for enough time on today’s chapter to go: SHANKSLU GOOD… many months since this has happened

there’s a lot more in this chapter too…luffy sharing meat with someone ofc. i’m interested in luffy’s concentrated frown when loki says he DID have someone he idolized. there are a couple of things i’m wondering about the translation too. but GOD WE’RE SO CLOSE TO THEM MEETING…

luffy never challenged shanks to a fight—rather luffy challenged a man he had no chance of beating because the man was talking bad about shanks. shanks sacrificed flesh to save luffy’s life. yet luffy says “you feel the same way about someone” …

obsessing over luffy & loki’s stories being the same but opposite. both yearned to join the crew of a pirate they idolized but loki’s relationship w/ xebec characterized by violence, while luffy’s relationship w/ shanks characterized by protection & sacrifice

half of me is wondering if they’ll end up freeing loki and teaming up to take down the knights, loki perhaps seeing g5 in the process and coming to some kind of Understanding before he then tells luffy where shanks is. the other half of me is AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
