Maybe this is a contrary view, but I cringe when men say that they want to protect us women from "the patriarchy". I am not sure what they expect as a response. Are they looking for gratitude? If I really wanted to see virtue signaling on full display, I would just go over to LinkedIn.

I can't keep pets in my rented apartment, which is common in Japan. But I quite like cats. They are independent and mysterious, and also very cute. I wonder if my platonic interest in cats makes me a cat lady by proxy.

Seeing lots of Gofundme campaigns in my feed recently. I'll avoid trying to stereotype them, but there are some patterns. I know it is a tough time for a lot of people. I wonder what the price tag would be if you added up the target amounts for all the active campaigns?
