“Get mcguffin #1, he starts blocking mcguffin #2,” seems fine on paper. But the level changing mid-encounter means that you are simultaneously discovering and evading. There is no guidance to the escape triggers, of which there are two (you do not know this), so you incrementally progress by dying.

The loop here is basically to learn his path, and the variable speeds at which he travels, and avoid him. The issue is that when you do, he changes his path for no reason except to block your next objective. I can see the reasoning behind it from a dev perspective, but it’s a bad experience.

It’s like someone saw Mr. X and did it with zero other considerations. The reason Mr. X worked so well is because you would very infrequently find yourself trapped. You cannot do Mr. X— with an instakill grab attack— in an enclosed space that has been entirely changed to no longer match the map.

Townfall is killing me. I can forgive combat being bad for thematic reasons— but when the narrative prohibits it, the stealth system’s fail state results in chain-grabs and collision-blocking that render impossible the frantic chases it clearly wants to set up, considering all of the hiding spots.

It’s a window decal that says “one nation under god indivisible” with an american flag. For some reason the phrase “under god” is big as fuck and all the rest of the words are tiny.
