When you are in the EXPOSE and ENDURE phases the demon is confident and the host is stable. When you reach EXPEL the demon gets desperate and may begin to draw will from the Host. If the host dies, the exorcism and your journey ends.

In an exorcism, you fight - not only to vanquish a demon - but for the life of the possessed person. It is a constant dance. How hard can you attack, without pushing the host too far? In our deckbuilder Malys, the possessed are only vulnerable in the final stage of an exorcism.

We've had some questions about saving in our Early Access roguelite Malys - let's explain! 🙌 Malys autosaves after every encounter - be it demonic, story, shop or otherwise. We're still working on ways to best communicate this to players but if in doubt, look for save icon in the top left corner!

🕯️EXPEL🕯️ The final phase. You've got the demon on the back foot and it grows desperate and irratic. As you work to EXPEL them, the host is at their most vulnerable. The demon may draw from the host itself for sustanance. Remember, an exorcism is only successful if the host survives.

190

Summerfall Studios 🕯️Malys OUT NOW!🕯️ @summerfallstudios.com · 13/07/2025

1273

Summerfall Studios 🕯️Malys OUT NOW!🕯️ @summerfallstudios.com · 11/07/2025

Wait! If I've met a demon before, how come I still have to EXPOSE them on subsequent runs? Each time Noah fails he loses some of his memory. Certain demons take advantage of this and keep hiding their names from him. But...YOU might remember a certain flavour, scent or playstyle. Plan accordingly.

Lesser Demons aren't powerful enough to hide their names from you. These demons only require one round of EXPEL to exorcise. These demons only require one round of EXPEL to exorcise.

A demon in one hand is worth two in the stacks...but what's the difference between a Lesser Demon, a Demon, and a Region Boss? Greater Demons are powerful and disguise their names with Runes. You must first EXPOSE Demons to use their name against them, before continuing to ENDURE and EXPEL them.
