I’ve got a dress that doesn’t fit, plus scraps of satin and voile, a nylon chord, and some dye. If the dye goes well on the dress, I’ll dye the extras and create lacing loops to alter the back. If that goes well, I’ll make a petticoat, style a wig, and make the accessories.

Getting ready to attempt to dye and old costume today. We’ll see how it goes. If I ruin her, it’s not a huge loss — the construction isn’t all that great to begin with, and previous attempts to sell this very niche costume went nowhere. If this doesn’t go well I’m no worse off.

We crossed a line with fans/creatives accepting fan influence around the early 2010’s that fans seem to think they have ownership over their fandoms. No. You can choose how you engage with the material. You can discuss it once it exists and you can make fan fiction to your hearts content. But —

The change and people think that’s just because of the money/she had no say. As if having no say meant she couldn’t have just… said nothing. Or frankly, she would not have been the first creative to publicly dislike an adaption made of their work.

But none of these “fans” even want to give it a chance. They’re all judging it before they’ve even seen what the writers could do with it. And frankly, I’m sick of “Fans” in general acting like they should have a say in how creatives handle their works. The author has PUBLICLY supported —

Without changing ONE of the main love interests, there would never have been a queer romance of the same level of importance in the series. Never the main characters, never the center of a season. And frankly, I think the show runners chose the one that made the Most Sense to change.

And they rant about how the show could have just added Other queer romances (like Brimsley and Reynolds) COMPLETELY missing the point that those are Side characters, SUPPORTING storylines, never the central love story. It couldn’t be, because those belong ONLY to the Bridgertons.

— and they’re hiding behind “whaaaa my infertility storyline” as if they could have effectively told the type of infertility story portrayed in the books EFFECTIVELY in an 8-episode less-than-a-year season of a show that has become largely an ensemble, even if they HADNT changed him to a woman.

I use Beacon 3-in-1 for a number of things but not sure I’d like it for hair stuff once it’s been open for a while (when it gets kind of gooey) but I bet it’s be great if it were fresh. I’m on a mission to use what I have so I’ll probably still be using up the Uhu I bought.

I picked up a thing of tombow to try but wanted to finish out my last project w/ the uhu just for consistency sake. But even then I was using hot glue, uhu, and even pvp glue sticks. I’ll be interested to experiment w/ the tombow because uhu is definitely… messy.

When you say it dries slower than uhu, are you comparing to the original formula or solvent free? I prefer the solvent free uhu even though it sets slower than the original formula, so I’m curious if tom bow is slower than THAT.
