What can I tell you about #MalkieriCon26? Here’s some highlights… Me, holding my tiny Rand statuette prize to be given to the first ever winners of The Randies. Foosball joy at DogBar. The river cruise. The first glass of post-con wine. Session planning and sunshine. Me & Z enjoying a Budvar.

Now, I’m going to finish walking home, sort the feedback survey, and set up a flight alert for Zagreb in 2027.

Thank you too everybody who helped run a session, move a chair, offered to carry a bag or grab us some lunch. Thank you for welcoming in our new attendees this year, and for bringing such an infectious positive attitude. I love you all. 6/

I probably wouldn’t have believed it. These conventions are a labour of love in the best way, I don’t think at this point any of us do it for the community, or even the wheel of time. We do it because every year we get to have the most exquisite fun in a beautiful city with incredible people. 5/

a fellow Brit who had a cunning plan to start the first European wheel of time convention, I would casually offer to this pretty much complete stranger to give him a hand, which spiralled so that we have just completed our 5th european convention together, 3 of which were international events… 4/

It’s been three years in Prague and (in my humble opinion) we keep going from strength to strength. If you’d told me back in July ‘22 that not only that travelling to the US to meet internet strangers would have brought me some of my greatest friendships, and that within 10 minutes of meeting… 3/

Well, another year done and this year I think @malkiericon.bsky.social certainly took the fifth of Prague. Thank you to everyone who supported Rob & I in pulling together this incredible weekend. Highlights included: 🎥 Visiting #WheelOfTime filming locations 🎭 WoT Murder Mystery Charades 1/

Men too cultured to read award winning Sally Rooney? Crikey what a bad take. Oh, you should read some Austen if you haven’t though. Brilliant, brilliant satire.

And we assume that many of you will also be fans of that other dragon show which rhymes with WoT… well Dubrovnik in the south of the country is the famous filming location of Kings Landing. (Did someone say Extended Road Trip?)

Thrilled to announce that we’re moving to Zagreb, Croatia for MalkieriCon 2027. Now let me share why you should be mega excited. It starts with #WheelOfTime filming locations! Some of our favourite Two Rivers scenes in S1 were shot in Croatia & Slovenia, (did someone say road trips?)

Finished Tress this week, it was very cute, but idk also just fine. I enjoyed the narrator voice but ultimately not the right audience! Properly gasped at the two big Cosmere spoiler moments (that I spotted) so still enjoyed it enough!

Ahhh but only 6 in the premier league though and not teams I have much awareness of other than city (Fulham are my teams local rivals but it’s not really a thing)

If anyone’s interested in his theories I’ve been forcing him to give me them and will share, trying to remember at what point Sanderson drops specific Cosmere law in these books is hard and I’ve been desperately skirting spoilers whilst trying to help him understand stuff

Finally got my brother to read his first fantasy series. He’s been absolutely gripped, loads of theories. He was a bit taken aback at the deaths at the end of book 2. He’s just started Hero of Ages. Am I about to have ruined fantasy books for my brother 😬 ‘I am, unfortunately, the hero of ages’ 😭

Happy (belated) Birthday to our dearest @malkiertalks.com - you support the community so much, and have a lot of Ji for a Wetlander!

Rob, in a green wheel of time tee, is sat at a fancy looking table with a China tea set, holding a tiny cup.

A selfie of Rob and Sulin sat in a house, with blankets on their laps. Rob has black hair and is wearing a MalkieriCon t shirt, sulin has blonde hair, glasses and is wearing a black turtleneck.

Rob in a black tee and camel trousers, stood in front of a costume exhibt, the costumes behind him are Perrin in his two rivers battle gear and Elayne’s Aes Sedai costume. Rob is throwing his head back laughing and his walking stick has fallen over.

Rob and Sulin in a selfie outside a baguette place in Prague called Bageterie Boulevard. Rob has a baseball cap and headphone on, they are both in coats and it is nighttime.
