In my lifetime, I think Thatcher fostered the infighting in the working and middle classes. Why? Because we were getting too strong, too educated and we were asking too many questions which would topple the elite from their position of power and influence. She did a brilliant job.

Whether we like it or not, Andy Burnham has no intention of allowing another independence referendum in Scotland (a Union???). BUT he does like Greater Manchester, however, and would like more such areas in England, with greater powers. Maybe a route to negotiation?

When anyone is murdered, it is awful. Reform seem to be using their colleague's death to make it about Reform. It's not about one party. It's not about one individual. It's about the polarisation of society, and some MPs, some groups and some individuals are intent on more polarisation.
