The NJ PACT REAL Rules: A Solution to Flooding in New Jersey · New Jersey League of Conservation Voters
New Jersey is no stranger to destruction from intense storms, which are happening more frequently. We’ve seen an increase of nearly double the amount of extreme storms over the past 50 years. In addition to changing storm patterns, even under a moderate emissions scenario, New Jersey can still expect five feet in sea level rise by 2100. But we have hope. The New Jersey Protecting Against Climate Threats (NJPACT) NJ PACT regulations will ensure that we are resilient against the storms we know are coming, and are already here. Specifically they will help residents and businesses mitigate the destructive impacts of climate change. But they are facing enormous pushback, and we need informed, vocal supporters to make sure they are enacted as soon as possible, to help save lives and protect property. Join our webinar on July 16th at 6PM to learn about these regulations in more detail–and what you can do to ensure that these lifesaving measures are passed in New Jersey. Joining us will be Jen Coffey, the Executive Director of ANJEC (Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions); and Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. We are honored to be co-sponsoring this webinar with ANJEC, New Jersey Highlands Coalition, Pinelands Preservation Alliance, New Jersey Sustainable Business Network, Waterspirit, Sierra Club, and New Jersey Conservation Foundation. By signing up, you agree to receive email updates from the New Jersey League of Conservation Voters and our cosponsors with ways you can advocate for and protect our environment.
