Take home messages from #IBNS2025; Not all rats enjoy playing as much and there are ‘popular’ ones. This makes some others feel left out and exhibit anxiety like behaviour. Not all controls are controls and individual differences should be carefully evaluated. Play behaviour is tricky 🤓🩷

#INSAR2025 made me question the topics I havent considered before. What I realised is that we need to talk more about; - Autism and menstruation, - Autism and pregnancy, - Autism and motherhood, - Autism and menopause. Autism is not a childhood disease that is only manifested in males.

We do haematology labs every year where students learn basic techniques like cell counting, Hg assessment and good old blood smear for leukocytes. Every year we have a fainter within the group that we ultimately had to have a ‘fainter kit’ in the lab 🙈 #facultyofmedicine #departmentofphysiology
