A photo of a sycamore tree in the middle of a green space. Between the camera and the green is a low stone wall, and in front of that, a cobbled road. On the verge is a planter made of vertical planks, with a tyre fixed round the top. There is a small bare shrub in the planter. Behind the wall, is a large shrub and a small tree to the left. The tree is in leaf.

The sky is blue.

Mae'n teimlo fel hydref heddiw. #CastanwyddenEccles It feels like autumn today. #EcclesChestnut
A horse chestnut tree against a blue sky. Beside it is a green area bordered by a low stone wall, with other trees and in the background is a large Victorian house. The road in front is cobbled. The gutters are full of fallen leaves.

The trees, including a small laburnum in front of the chestnut, are in leaf, and the leaves are turning yellow and dropping. There are conkers forming on the horse chestnut.

Telephone wires cut across the sky from a telegraph pole next to the tree.

Anyone remember that green table cloth that was the bane of my childhood because my toy farm animals kept falling over on it? We found the farm animals, and had to have a play. I think our dexterity is better now, most of them stayed upright.

I didn't buy this book though. In my case "where to see old buttons" equals "almost everywhere I look, god, why do I have so many old buttons?" How terrible though, of museums in Europe not to have full English explanations of their button collections....
The front cover of a book entitled Discovering Old Buttons by Primrose Peacock. The cover image is a selection of vintage buttons of all sizes and colours.A page from the book titled "Where to see old buttons". The second paragraph begins "In Europe many major museums have small selections of buttons, but captions are usually in the local language and English-speaking staff seldom available".
