Shout out to gay hockey for saving our library temporarily

Gay hockey saves libraries temporarily

Last month, Rachel Reid donated $300,000 to the Annapolis Valley Regional Library after it announced five branches were set to permanently close due to financial issues.

“As an author, but also as a Nova Scotian who's had a tremendous amount of success and good fortune this year, I just felt like I needed to give back to the place I live in,” said the Halifax author in an interview on Saturday.

I was reading a description of how a repeater vacuum tube was made in the 1920s at Bell Labs (impossibly intricate), and searched for an image of it, and somehow you can still buy the same model on Amazon after 100 years, incredible

This comment is on an article about the Wayland display server lol

Hell no, I am not going to leave work in the morning just to be controlled at night by these weirdos and their live of moderation and conformity and being "aligned" with their stupid and meaningless politics and causes which have NOTHING to do with Linux, but are actually anti freedom of expression and speech. There is no reason why I want to join that herd of sheep.

It's 15000+ light years away! And in dark interstellar space!

Based on the microlensing event’s properties, Mroz and colleagues were able to estimate that the lensing body object could be either a Neptune-mass planet located in the Milky Way's galactic disk, around 15,000 light-years away. Alternatively, the rogue world could be a larger but more distant Saturn-mass object in the Milky Way's galactic bulge, roughly 23,000 light-years away.

Sidenote, this person is dumb as shit, probably couldn't find Manitoba on a map if their life depended on it

It could, however, become even more complicated. Douglas B. Sosnik, a longtime Democratic strategist, said it was possible that Quebec, which has already come close to seceding from Canada over the past few decades, would be so disturbed at annexation by the United States that it would declare its independence at last.

“The Democrats would control Vancouver and Ontario province, but that’s it with the rest of what is left of Canada supporting the Republicans,” he said.
