Unless it was Dragon Ball Z, most of the time, kids at my age didn’t care for anime outside of that. Heck, Pokemon was considered “gay” once it stopped peaking. Most kids I knew wanted to speedrun childhood to watch Family Guy or whatever adult cartoons there were. But DBZ stood relatively fresh.
