Building an audience in indie comics means earning EVERY SINGLE reader. One of our backers picked up Issue #1— and had to write to say he'd made it 4 pages before he backed Issue #2. : )

Joshua Rubin @subversiverse.bsky.social · 30/03/2026

A comic panel doesn't just arrive. It's built. Watch a single panel from Time Sensitive #2 move through every stage — Jorge's layouts, inks, colors by Sarah Stern, letters by Micah Myers. Three artists, four stages. TS2 is live on Kickstarter now! www.kickstarter.com/projects/tim...

Two great comic artists that go great together!

Got some BIG NEWS coming Friday. The big Stretch Goal when we hit 400% funded is a FIFTH collectible variant cover. This one has a very special story. It's an artist I'm very close to. And she's an absolute genius at hyper-realistic graphite portraits. www.kickstarter.com/projects/tim...

300% funded. Seven days. 397 backers. Made a quick video because I didn't know what else to do with this feeling. Thank you all. www.kickstarter.com/projects/tim...

Polish artist Igor Wolski built this cover from scratch and I can watch his process video forever! Be sure back TIME SENSITIVE #2 before Thursday 3/9 @ midnight — because after that, this cover disappears forever and I genuinely don't want that for you. www.kickstarter.com/projects/tim...

Absolutely planned it this way! : )

We are LIVE and FUNDED in one hour!!! Now that's a good morning. Feeling honored... and relieved. This is what happens when you spend two years building something you believe in — and when readers set their alarm clocks to show up for it!! Thank you, guys!

So excited about this Igor Wolski cover for Issue 2 - and ONLY available for the first three days!! Be there on March 17 to grab yours. If you don't know Igor's totally bonkers work, here's more. Feels like a mix of Hergé (Tin Tin) and Moebius to me.

I make comics because I believe stories can close the distance between strangers. Then someone like Backer #24 shows up and proves it. This is one of the most meaningful things anyone has ever said about my work. 🧵 1/4

Time Sensitive Issue #2 has a new colorist! Sarah Stern. 300+ issues. Batman, Cap, Star Wars. Every major publisher in comics. She said yes to our book. Jorge called her work "maybe the best colour I've had so far." Yeah. We leveled up. Launches March 17th on Kickstarter! #IndieComics #Kickstarter

Joshua Rubin @subversiverse.bsky.social · 02/03/2026

We got Filipe Andrade to do a collectible cover for TIME SENSITIVE #2. If you know his work on Laila Starr, Rare Flavours, or Guardians of the Galaxy, you know nobody else draws like this. What he turned in blew my mind. Kickstarter only — this one will never be reprinted. Full reveal in the video.

What do you do when your game's levels are locked, the missions are built — and STORY still isn't working? That's when they call ME. I'm speaking at GDC 2026 on the tools I use as a Narrative Fixer. If your studio's sitting on a broken narrative — let's talk. tinyurl.com/3tbthvch #GDC #gamedev

I’ve shipped AAA games. Written for Netflix. Nothing hit like watching real people open something that lived in my head for years. The unboxing videos have been destroying me (in the best way). This one from Stephanie Palacino-Hernandez is chef’s kiss. #TimeSensitive #StrangeLandComics

Time Sensitive Issue #2 is officially a Kickstarter "Project We Love." Again! Issue #1 hit 465% funded with 850+ backers. Issue #2 is locked and loaded — and just got selected by Kickstarter for the 2nd time and I genuinely don't know how to be cool about it. timesensitive2.strangelandcomics.com

I've shipped games to millions of players. Nothing prepared me for shipping 800 comics from my dining room table with my kids. That was Issue #1. 465% funded. 850+ backers. The most creatively fulfilling thing I've ever done. Now Issue 2 of TIME SENSITIVE is coming to Kickstarter March 17th!

Joshua Rubin @subversiverse.bsky.social · 14/02/2026

We did it!! Nearly 800 copies of my comic "Time Sensitive" #1 have been packed and mailed!

I mean, is it just me, or isn't threatening to invade Greenland in order to provoke a break up of NATO exactly the kind of thing a Russian sleeper agent would do?

This is the best kind of review you can ask for!

Here's a little video I made at Midnight on the last night, staying up late to watch the final seconds of my first Kickstarter campaign click over to zero. I’m still processing it all, but mostly just feeling grateful. Next up: production begins. Then it's time to ramp up Issue 2 for January!
