look, i'm not even going to dignify this AI slop with a link but can we just stop and acknowledge this is not "math"? no human mathematician would simultaneously publish hundreds of results like this. they'd identify a single concept that connects them and write a book that explains it effectively.

Dual PS Access Leverless Controller Setup: A Case Study I've been playing fighting games since I was a kid. Through the course of time, it's become increasingly clear that I am OLD now. I still very much want to play fighting games; my body just doesn't work like it used to. For starters, I'm […]

so i'm working on a blogpost about my custom 2x PS Access controller setup and was looking through going camera roll for pictures. i couldn't help but share these adorable cameos. #fgc #cats represent! #catsofmastodon
a selfie of a gaming session interrupted by a furry protest. a large brown tabby asserts himself between the photographer and custom controller, while an orange tabby in the background contemplates how to further escalate the situation if they are not feed immediately. an orange tabby stares down the camera after having taking full control over the photographer's streaming setup. a lone cat toy sits on the ground next to him, surrounded by a messy collection of electronic peripherals.

Today, after a little over 3 years, I finally caught up on #OnePiece! I came quite close to my target of 1 episode a day, ending at about ~.97. What a fun show! suburbanlion.com/blog/2026/08/05/to…

Today I finally caught up on One Piece.
I started watching the series in April 2023 and just finished episode 1172, for an average rate of ~0.97 episodes a day. What an incredible journey! I originally set out to do watch this when I started diving in to Lawvere’s and Schanuel’s “Conceptual Mathematics”. I wanted to develop a routine for myself, I started each morning with a single episode before getting into my math for the day. This habit lasted almost 2 years, until January 1st of 2025 when life decided it had other plans for me. My One Piece supply ran dry while a new job took over my study time. The study time still hasn’t quite returned yet, but a balanced budget has its own merits. Later that year I found myself subbing to Crunchy Roll for Guilty Gear Dual Rulers. Lo and behold, One Piece was back on the menu! Well, along with more anime than I could possibly ask for. I was able to resume my catching up with more liberty. I wanted to keep myself close to a “one a day” average, but being behind schedule opened up new options. I was now able binge a bunch of episodes at once, find something else to watch for a while, and then come back to it at my discretion. I probably could have planned this out to catch up at a once-a-day average with more precision, but that kind of feels like cheating when the whole goal of task was to do things in moderation. Besides, I didn’t really keep track of the special episodes so there’s always a little error margin in measurement anyway. Getting caught up at all seems like an accomplishment ### Share this: * Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window) Bluesky * Share on Mastodon (Opens in new window) Mastodon * Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) LinkedIn * Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit * Share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook * Share on Threads (Opens in new window) Threads * Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email * More * * Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest * Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr * Print (Opens in new window) Print * ### Like this: Like Loading…

so.... is bluesky down? after deleting cookies and trying to login again, it seems like they added some age-verification bullshit that doesn't even work.

Just realised that my "small-scale ethics" are anti-protestant (I do not believe that frugality or hard work are inherently good) and my "large-scale ethics" are anti-catholic (I do not believe that what is natural is inherently good) An ethicist or theologian could probably tell me the proper […]

Some of my earliest blog posts were about Mesmer theory-crafting in #GuildWars2. Seeing as how I'm both playing again and blogging again, I figured it might be fun time to write a Mesmer guide. Here's the "Flex Support Rifle Virtuoso" build that finally got me knighted […]

Mental Healthcare, Education, and the Black Hole of Capitalism Today’s post is about something a little taboo: self-diagnosed mental illness. I distinctly remember my Abnormal Psychology professor prefacing the course with the warning we’d see aspects of each diagnosis in ourselves, but they […]

The blogging continues! This time I trialed and errored my way through setting up a local installation of PreTeXt using Debian/WSL. If you spend enough time writing math to hit your GitHub compute quota, this one's for you! […]
