The carving consists of a single winding path, deeply pecked into the stone to form a classical labyrinth pattern. Unlike a maze, the labyrinth has only one route leading to the center, often interpreted as a metaphor for life, death, and spiritual journey. 2/

Carved into a rock face in northern England, this labyrinth design dates back to the late Bronze Age or early Iron Age, around 1200–500 BCE. The "Rock Art Labyrinth of Northumberland" is among the rare prehistoric labyrinth carvings in Europe, linking the region to a widespread symbolic tradition.

Revival of an ancient Hekate ritual! "The Hekatesia key-carrying ceremony has deep historical significance. In ancient times, the route from Lagina’s Hekate Sanctuary to Stratonikeia was not merely symbolic, but represented a political and religious bond. "
