The trick is to compare *more than conversion costs*. Check where your listeners come from, whether they're saving and returning, and whether those countries make sense for your music. Test, evaluate, try again, try something different, evaluate again...

Think of it this way: one song today, another in a few weeks, then another... that’s way more effective than burning through 10 at once 💡 If a curator liked your vibe before, resend every 3-4 weeks. It keeps you on their radar without overwhelming them.

If approved, it also gives you more chances to spread your music over several weeks (so, let's say, a couple hundred listeners over 4 weeks, and then another couple hundred for the next track), rather than reaching the same listeners with both songs in one go.

Sending 1 track at a time gives your music a fair shot (without overwhelming the curator, and also, if they don't like it, they'll decline just that one, not 3 at the same time).

Keep an eye on your analytics to see where the plays are coming from… and if it’s the algorithms, congrats! Just... don’t jump to conclusions too fast. A sudden surge might mean trouble – or it might mean Spotify just gave your song a boost. You'll know, and will be able to react, soon enough.

Keeping a record that you reported it – and didn’t ask for it – can make a difference (doesn't always, though). On the flip side, those spikes CAN also be GOOD news. Sometimes, it’s your track getting picked up by algorithmic playlists like Radio or Discover Weekly 🚀

Not much right away. Wait it out (easier said than done). If it was bots from a sketchy playlist, you’ll see it within a day or two in your S4A. If that happens, report it to Spotify and your distributor (our Playlist Checker: submithub.com/playlist-checker can help identify those).

A quick tip: keep your emails short. Send your best-fitting track, include the ISRC + a flac link, and that’s enough. Most stations get flooded with submissions, so it’s normal if they don’t reply. Stay polite, keep trying, and make it as easy as possible for the editor to get what they need.

👉 Begin small: local, student, or online stations. You’ve got a much higher chance they’ll say yes (or even read your pitch). 👉 Once you’ve landed a few spins, use that as proof when pitching to bigger stations. 👉 The more traction you build, the further you can reach.

You can try asking for better genres or similar artists, thoughts on your lyrics or the guitar in the second verse, or even adding “please no production notes.” It’s also a neat way to highlight something they might otherwise miss (“make sure to check the outro chorus change”).
