The good thing about storm chasing in Europe is that sometimes you are the only one out there ^^

I love fog at night. It always creates such a unique atmosphere… ^^

Fun fact: This was my first storm chase where I experienced hail larger than ~2 cm in diameter ^^

Throwback to July 2nd when a giant shelf cloud followed us in northwestern Germany! ^^

Sturmkatze @sturmkatze.bsky.social · 21/09/2025

Well… the season finale was all about standing in a field in Belgium and waiting for storm initiation… that just didn‘t happen. Anyways, I‘m already excited for 2026!

000

Sturmkatze @sturmkatze.bsky.social · 19/09/2025

Strong to severe thunderstorms expected tomorrow evening in northern France and Belgium. This might be the finale for my storm chasing season!

The supercell in Belgium two days ago developed a textbook clear slot as well…

A relatively high potential for tornadoes from northern France to Belgium and the Netherlands today. I will be there to see what happens ^^

Here is another view at this thing ^^

Sturmkatze @sturmkatze.bsky.social · 27/08/2025

It was difficult to see through all the rain, but I definetly captured a wall cloud near Mainz (RP) today. Another successfull storm chase I‘d say ^^

030

Sturmkatze @sturmkatze.bsky.social · 26/08/2025

Tomorrow will be the first storm chase in a long time for me! A few „mini supercells“ might develope in western to south-western Germany.

Yesterday's supercell in northern France was very impressive to watch! The wall cloud just got darker and lower every minute... until it all was torn to shreds by the approaching squall line.
