I guess some people might have a use case for it, but personally I think it's ridiculous that there basically aren't any native methods to interact with data. Like I either have to copy in stuff from a spreadsheet manually or learn an entire scripting language for exactly one tool ever.

Libreoffice Base has to be one of the most useless fucking pieces of software I've ever touched. Tried it thinking it'd be good for managing some financial data in spreadsheets... it can only get the data with manual imports or macros written in basic. Amazing. Wonderful. Truly useful.

I've spoken on this before, but I do earnestly believe the desires involved are quite similar. Mind you, I'm not saying this is literally slavery or that it's as bad. What I'm saying is that it serves the same role, and stems from similar desires.

This is confirmation to me that at the core of generative AI is the desire for virtual slavery. They want a "thing" that can simply do all that which they don't want and then take all the responsibility of it doesn't go how they want. They don't truly want a tool. They want to scapegoat.

Before I was impoverished I really did not understand how many basic things are a privilege not everyone gets. Dignity & pride are a privilege. Those go out the window when stuff is desperate. Even having things just to look forward to can be a privilege if ur so broke u can't do or get anything.
