The judges and onlookers didn’t mind one bit. I almost broke character here, I usually have to put on a smile and pretend I’m enjoying the show, but this kid made me want to stand up and shout “stop hitting him so hard”.

The kid whipping this poor pig was a real asshole, compared to the other kids which I can somewhat emphasize with considering their early indoctrination into this violent culture, this boy was quite old, almost an adult, and knew how hard he was hitting his pig.

Because pigs lack a facial structure suited for halters, the way for kids to corral them is by whipping them on the side/in the face to get them to walk in a different direction. While most of these pigs had whip marks on their bodies, this one had really visible, fresh wounds.

My many other posts before this explain the horrors of 4-H animal clubs, so I don’t want to repeat myself, but by now this goat is probably dead. Forced to be auctioned off to slaughter, indoctrinating the kids who raised them into a world of violence against animals. It’s a never ending madness.

there are no halters that are outfitted for a pig’s face. This saves them from the manhandling that they would endure like the goats and sheep for 4-H shows, but it means they get the next worst thing, whips. Pigs are controlled and corralled by the use of whips for these shows.

While cheering with pride as the human does so, the horse is left in immense pain and discomfort as their reins are violently pulled on, so much so you can see contortion in the mouth, a highly sensitive area on the body of a horse. I will never understand how this is normalized.
