Chris Budd @stuffer.bsky.social · 3hWord of the day: matriculate. To enrol at a university to study for a degree. A lot of matriculation going on right now, methinks. 020
Chris Budd @stuffer.bsky.social · 14hMy favourite Jeffrey Archer story is the one where he was a judge for a local short story competition. The winner was a story about the day in the life of a cat. A year or so later he published a book of his short stories - and the winning entry was included in his collection. 110

Chris Budd @stuffer.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Just went into the dentist for a checkup as The Last Time by the Rolling Stones started playing in reception. I came out from my checkup, and the song was still playing. Result! 020
Chris Budd @stuffer.bsky.social · 05/10/2026The Tories seem to be wooing the voters they lost to Reform with these terrible policy announcements. Which is a massive shame. I preferred when they were centre right, not batshit crazy right. 020
Chris Budd @stuffer.bsky.social · 05/10/2026On that Green point (I’m currently a member). The trouble with them being an environmental party is that people who prioritise, say, the economy wouldn’t vote for them. So they had to develop a broader set of policies. Trouble is, they aren’t very good at it! 110
Chris Budd @stuffer.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I do realise that this is probably the most common post ever placed on social media and in that sense is an extremely boring post. But it made me feel incrementally better. Thank you for being there for me. 050

Chris Budd @stuffer.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Never trust someone who talks in round figures, such as £100k. It is a very clear demonstration that they haven’t done any research. Decent rule for life, that. 010

Chris Budd @stuffer.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Breakfast in London this morning. Scrambled eggs, bacon, brown sauce; poorly tuned radio slipping between pop hits and white noise; cheery cockney builder getting breakfast for him and his silent young apprentice; French couple asking for mayonnaise with their fried breakfast. Marvellous. 1140
Chris Budd @stuffer.bsky.social · 30/09/2026My shelves are full of biographies of musicians. My Dad would cry when listening to Tchaikovsky’s Pathétique Symphony because he understood the pain the composer was going through and he wrote it. And so on. 020

Chris Budd @stuffer.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I once saw Bristol Rovers at Combridge, on a Friday night. Far end full, our (away) end had 700 fans. Nobody down the sides. It meant every comment could be heard by the players. One of our fans shouted to their left back: "'Ere, no.3: Nobody in your family is proud of you." Brutal. 120

Chris Budd @stuffer.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Oh, but this wasn’t the Yul Brinner classic (which, I’d agree, wasn’t as good as Seven Samurai, which is perfect). It was a 2016 remake. Just the worst side of Hollywood. 000
