Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 09/05/2026Woke up early and am doodling, I’m trying to consciously correct my terrible pen grip. Is it leading to more expressive lines in my sketches? Or do I just have no control anymore? Either way, I feel like my hard work to improve my drawing the past year is starting to pay off. 130
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 12/08/2025Today I’ve been working on the cover image for my new WIP, Midnight Grounds, which I’m planning to release on #webtoon this fall! This is a redo of a sketch I did a few months ago and it’s wild to see how much my drawing has improved since then. #comics #webtooncanvas #illustration #vampires 041
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 06/08/2025THE PRINCESS IN BLACK X SAILOR MOON With a monsterfied cousin rampaging through town and evil villains lurking in the shadows, there’s only one thing for a MagiChef to do — Grab her talking corgi, magic spatula, and… Make Some Culinary Magic! #QuestPit #CH #GN #Q 2258
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 06/08/2025Art school was tough before the vampire tried to kill Edie. Now? It sucks. Armed only with a makeshift vampire hunting kit, Edie must try to survive freshman year. Oh, and… figure out if she can trust the hot Vampire Barista that got her into this mess. #QuestPit #YA #GN #WIP 1307
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 27/05/2025Can’t believe I made this that long ago! It was for some sort of 8-bit gallery show out in LA 000
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 23/05/2025As I’ve been drawing Edie, the MC of my current WIP, who has long flowing hair, I wonder if I should give the MC of Motor Solstice long hair too. It’s just fun to draw and so convenient for filling up large parts of empty space in the panel so I don’t have to draw as many backgrounds 😂 030
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 22/05/2025I’m finally starting to hone in on my “YA” style, more for my current WIP, but also for Motor Solstice. I’m letting querying play out on the current version, but hope to revise it when I’m feeling more confident. Anyway, here’s a doodle I did this morning: #amwriting #graphicnovel #illustration 0110
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 16/05/2025I am definitely terrible at regular posting, but here’s a warmup sketch I did today of the MCs of #wip #comic #graphicnovel #amwriting #illustrator 050
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 11/04/2025Just a morning warmup sketch of Robin. #sketch #sketchbook #drawing #oc 040

Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 23/03/2025Why does Siri auto-categorize Drano as a beverage in grocery lists 😱 c’mon Apple!!! 020
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 19/03/2025I am not doing so great at being consistent posting hah but have been quietly working on my new #comic that I am planning to release on #webtoon This is WIP, I’m trying to nail down the style. I really need to draw a background in all that white space but I don’t wanna 😭 1190
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 03/03/2025Can the temp just like, not be constantly be switching between 20s and 50s? Weather/Pressure shifts are a migraine trigger for me and it’s been wreaking havoc on my productivity 😩 040
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 02/03/2025I haven’t been as diligent with my drawing lately as I’ve been busy planning a billion birthdays along with my normal life things, but managed this doodle last night. I resisted posting it at midnight when I finished it, be proud of me. 190

Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 09/02/2025It’s amazing how much I can get done when I switch doomscrolling for drawing 😅 I need to do an actual character design pass on these folks so they’re not just the very first ideas my brain spat out. Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 07/02/2025Just a sketch for today. I did this last night and it took all my willpower not to post it at midnight as soon as I was done 😂 patience is not my strong suit, which is why working on all this secret art for my book pitches has been so painful! #sketch #sketchbook #doodle #OC #originalart 1120
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 06/02/2025Sketch for the day done. She’s got a secret and he’s on to her. Drama ensues. I’m hoping if I keep up this consistent drawing I’ll get faster and faster, I think I spent about 1.5 hrs on this one. #sketch #sketchbook #OC #originalart #amwriting #graphicnovel 2180
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 04/02/2025Here’s todays doodle, done during my weekly art chat this afternoon 🧡 I have a fantasy wip that I’m going to finish writing someday, and this is inspired by that #sketch #sketchbook #OC #illustration #amwriting #originalart #YA #graphicnovel #comics 0191

Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 01/02/2025This morning’s sketch, I’ve been doing a pretty good job with my goal of drawing every day, and I can tell the difference! I don’t feel like I’m relearning to draw every time anymore. 😂 #sketch #sketchbook #OC #amwriting #graphicnovel 0111
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 31/01/2025Why am I posting this at night I know nobody is on here now 😂 whatever here’s a sketch I did this afternoon, I’m trying to play with expressive brush strokes and line weight. #sketch #sketchbook #doodle #illustration 0111
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 30/01/2025Some of the feedback I’ve gotten is to push my wip more YA, and I did this doodle last night, loosely inspired by Ayami Kojima’s works. #sketch #sketchbook #OC 081
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 29/01/2025Had a great R&R chat today! Now I have lots of things to think about. I'm going to mull it over for a bit (instead of immediately diving in, which is what I always want to do hah.) I need to play some video games for an interview I have tomorrow, anyway! #amwriting #kidlit #writingcommunity 070
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 28/01/2025Now that I’m querying, it’s time to think about what’s next. I’ve learned that getting excited about a new project is the best way to survive the rejections. Anyway, here’s a doodle of a possible MC for one of my story ideas. #sketch #sketchbook #comics #amwriting #illustrator #graphicnovel #OC 0160
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 25/01/2025Just a doodle today, I’ve had a busy week with school being closed, me being sick and a presentation to give. Hopefully next week I’ll get back in the groove and feel more productive! #doodle #sketch #sketchbook #OC 061
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 24/01/2025I had a lot of fun with this and it was a nice challenge to make a real #illustration after so long. Got some semi promising leads on the querying front, we shall see if this story finds its home! Or maybe I’ll just make it a #webtoon hmmmm #amwriting #graphicnovel #OC #kidlit #illustrator #comics 061
Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 22/01/2025I’ve been trying to do some drawing every day, and dug these old high school OC’s deep from my memory and drew them. They were such Mary Sue’s hah. Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 21/01/2025Man, querying is the pits. Do any of you ever feel like your story might be “too commercial” ? Like my style of writing and art are too much “animated series” and not “literature?” Anyway, here’s a few spots in my wip #illustration that I’m loving. #illustrator #graphicnovel #OC #comics #amwriting 1110

Kristin @stuffbykristin.bsky.social · 11/01/2025I don’t have many solid goals for 2025, things feel so up in the air right now.
