Exactly this. People vote for those they think will help them most. This has been used against the people for decades now by both dominant parties. And now some people create accounts to further divide the people and prevent progress.

Yes, the way that theologians are making progress is interesting to see. I’m hoping that they and others can rehabilitate the faiths before they become irrelevant. I’m concerned that people will end up losing meaning if the problems of religion are not addressed.

You’re right to distinguish between faith leaders and congregants. I’m simply saying that the foundational principle of Christianity is itself a controlling idea. The idea of punishment by God for not believing Christianity is abusive.
