I have the first two from back in the day, and yeah they definitely helped shape and broaden my city adventures, which then became more and more the heart of our campaigns. At 13 I definitely benefitted from some guidance on city design :)

Love Cess & Citadel, creative evocative ideas for city building. The "I loot the body" table is tacked to my gm screen. They also wrote Into the Wyrd and Wild for everything outside the gates. Great stuff.

I never really understood the AD&D level limits since it didn't help rules balance except over a looooong campaign. It felt like it was more for world-story balance, to explain how 400 year old non-humans weren't 80th level :)

It's great, straightforward and fun. No levels for PCs, you progress based on using your skills and getting new (very infrequent) Heroic Abilities. We play with all optional rules, which is fun (and brutal!)

A comedy of errors: they were kicked out of the Kingmage Inn, now staying at the Poached Dragon. Their other characters were kicked out of the Poached Dragon, now staying at the Kingmage. All while trying to find each other.

The main quest for both parties is the "Bracelet of Maras Endor", an artifact that can open gates between worlds. Their original characters already have it (sort of). But in all the confusion their new characters don't know this...

Session 10: ended up with all new characters in what was supposed to be a side adventure. Thrown out of a bar, a guild house, and inadvertently betrayed the mob (i.e. thieve's guild). But only one of them is addicted to the local street drug "soulfire", so there's that. #rpg #ttrpg #dragonbane
