Eight years ago today, an off-duty police officer in Dallas, Texas murdered Botham Jean, a Black man, after wrongfully entering his apartment believing it was their own. Botham was a brilliant accountant, beloved brother, and devoted son. He was shot and killed just days before his 27th birthday.
