Wasn’t there a name for this when AOL would buy a completely unrelated company and then spend a lot of time and energy figuring out how to push AOL sales through it?

This is exactly what ICE said: "Parra-Hernandez ran in front of an ICE vehicle and was struck." Now watch the video. They're no other word for it: They're lying.

I didn’t finish reading Stephenson’s “Fall; or, Dodge in Hell” because the virtual world building was too much for my brain with a newborn, but the personal ai filters to filter out the onslaught of others’ ai seems prescient

I thought perhaps the Russian bot / data center claims were overblown. In the last three days the Waltham Channel on Facebook has zero right wing comments on their posts. WALTHAM.

This isn’t a new or insightful statement but the amount of human labor involved in simply keeping the lights on for the most basic ai imaginable belies the ai “might kill everyone” threat to humanity. CEOs on the other hand…

It’s that phones only show one app at a time. And I can’t copy and paste from a pdf. The real evil here is the that the daycare distribution of data.

Jon @stucky.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
I could easily create my own calendar entries by flipping back and forth between the pdf app and my phone calendar app—but I am cursing the daycare the entire time. This kind of activity measures well against AI Assurance. The risk of the AI screwing up absolutely pales in comparison to its utility.

Jon @stucky.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
My kids daycare sends me a pdf of their calendar that dictates special days for dressing up. I shove the pdf into work’s enterprise AI and ask for ICS files for each special dress up day to alert me at 7am when I am about to pull out the day’s clothes for the kids. It works very well.

If it were possible with policy, forcing stores to implement a single queue for multiple registers would accomplish the same thing. No one likes being their own checker, they use the self checkout because it’s faster and it’s faster because of the single queue.

SiriusXM does not, it’s satellite based. Also, I said I don’t get exposed to country pop music. I’ve been listening to alt country since 2004. Lucero, Two Cow Garage, Drive By Truckers, Jason Isbell, Sunday Valley, Sturgill Simpson, and so on.

SiriusXM is programmed by music directors. It doesn’t use a proprietary algorithm to push music at you based on likes or interactions. That’s why people pay for it.

Jon @stucky.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Is your classic rock station playing it? As for “my algorithm,” whatever that means, I am not prone to being exposed to country pop music because the radio stations (that I don’t control) don’t play it.

I listen to the Spectrum on SirusXM and that station has never played the song, not once, and it plays a regular rotation of new music.

I tried a few things but it all ended up sounding like Al Swearengen "To be or not to be, that is the fucking question." -Al to the indian's head.

I’ve always wondered where the word “Armageddon” comes from
A body of ancient Jewish writings makes reference to the acharit hayamim, or "the end of days." The most famous document was written shortly after the Jews were taken captive by the Babylonian king Nebuchadrezzar II in 606 b.C.
A court adviser named Daniel dreamed of four beasts arising from the sea, the last with ten horns and iron teeth that "crushed and devoured its victims" before God appeared over a river of fire to initiate a kingdom with no end.
Some of Daniel's readers took this to mean that a massive battle would soon take place, perhaps near a hilltop outside the northern crossroads town of Megiddo. This was the spot where the beloved King Josiah was killed in battle just before the Babylonians drove the Israelites from their homes. The Har Megiddo (also called "Mount Megiddo" or "Armaged-don") was the traditional Levantine geography of good's final triumph over evil and, with it, the purifying fire and end of history.
