If this person is not a fed, then this is a posting masterclass and I cannot help but applaud. Covid being a bioweapon made in collaboration with Epstein is a slurry of conspiracy theories that transcends left/right politics. Each post is funnier than the last.

This article is great entertainment, but it is also the press equivalent of a tweet that left the target audience. This is Portland apartment behavior but with money on the line. The bar should be a co-op; having community buy-in prevents crusty anarchists from ruining a good thing.

If a Dem candidate is going to let themselves get dog walked by a Republican on something as basic as trans rights, how are they going to stand up to Republicans on anything else?

Clinton ran a center-right campaign and alienated progressive voters as a result. She lost. Harris disregarded anti-genocide Dems and trans people in her center-right campaign. She lost even harder. If you're worried your bad human rights position could cost an election, reevaluate your stance.

Transphobia should not be this popular on this platform. If I wanted to see liberals uncritically support fascist policies, I'd just go to Twitter.

If the only way to fight fascism is by throwing trans people under the bus, then fascism won long before this election cycle. Capitulating on human rights failed just as hard in 2024 and 2016 as it did in Weimar. Accepting right wing framing makes you right wing.

I would be a lot more optimistic about Chicago urbanists if the space (at least on Bluesky) wasn't dominated by neoconservatives who think building housing for landlords is more important than building housing for people

The bad news is that this rule is vague enough to only be used to coddle the few notable fascists that regularly get dunked for being dumb, wrong, or both at the same time. The good news is that those same people also dogpile others and commit reportable offenses on a daily basis

You know, I think that “wonk” was actually a genius coinage when you think about it: the smug think[sic]-tank-adjacent “intellectuals” it describes truly are individuals whose very conception of ‘knowing’ is on backwards. The bumptious world must bend to fit the model! Graph trumps material reality!

"John Brown Stan Account" confused as to why food gets more expensive when you remove the slavery and ensure workers are paid closer to a living wage throughout the supply chain.
John Brown stan account endorsing slavery and worker exploitation via a grocery co-op strawman.

Post 1: "I have it on good authority from a friend who lives in Pittsburgh that the East End Food Co-op is legitimately the most expensive place you can shop in Pittsburgh by a country mile. There's an Aldi three blocks away where you can shop for 1/5 the price."

Post 2: "Food co-ops are very funny to me. Can't compete on price, selection, service, ambiance, or quality, so we will compete on... ideology!"

Last month, a liberal account spent two straight weeks defending Platner's tattoo and writing off the pre-sexual assault abuse allegations as excesses of feminism. They haven't answered for any of that (and haven't posted much political content) in a few days now.

Liberals would rather collaborate with (and lose to) Nazis than win an election based on social progress. This is just as true now as it was during the Weimar years. The DNC has been dominated by quislings for far too long.

We are in the second week of liberals doing domestic abuse apologia. The talking points have circled back to conservative talking points that were tired even back in 2017-2018. Accepting right wing framing only benefits the right wing.

We're now in day 6 of a liberal account bending over backwards to make excuses for Platner. If you find yourself making a 10+ post thread defending an SS tattoo and domestic violence in the name of anti fascism, then you don't hate fascism as much as you think you do.

Every time you see one of these headlines, remember that Israel's atrocities can be stopped with literally one (1) phone call. The horrors stop when we end our weapon shipments and neither party wants to do that. It's that simple.

The most popular car in the US is the F150. According to Edmunds, the cost of ownership over 5 years for a 2022 4 door F150 is basically $49k. You can buy a brand new Urban Arrow every year and still come out ahead by $9k, and Urban Arrows are expensive even for cargo bikes.
Total cost of ownership over a 5 year period for a 2012 Ford F150 (4 door base trim). Total is $49,130 with the breakdown being: $13,385 depreciation, $2,493 taxes, $5,184 financing, $13,857 fuel, $4,141 insurance, $2,800 repairs, and $7,270 maintenance

Am I delusional for thinking I can build this? All of these mid-century modern designs were originally intended to be made with off-the-shelf parts and only got their 4 figure price tags when they became capital-A Art.
A Charles and Ray (mostly Ray) Eames storage unit made for Herman Miller. Materials include 3/4" birch plywood, zinc coated steel legs, and masonite side panels painted with enamel-based paint. The pictured configuration retails for $2000+

It's sort of an unspoken rule in craft beer subculture, and especially beer criticism, that the macro light beers are mediocre but plenty drinkable. You gain nothing intellectually or morally by doing mental gymnastics about enjoying mid shit every once in a while.

In light of the released 2024 autopsy, it's worth remembering that the internal reporting from February acknowledged that Harris lost due to her apathy on Gaza. That didn't make it to the released report because Dems are allergic to principles. The bar is on the floor and the Dems cannot clear it.
