Quakers often hold meetings for worship in public as a way of giving expression to their testimonies. I participated in a meeting for workshop in Parliament Square Garden in 2023 (in connection with an XR protest). Freedom to worship in public is central to freedom of religion.

A lovely, sunny day for a vigil at St. Giles Quaker Meeting House in Oxford in solidarity with Westminster Quakers following last Thursday's police raid on their place of worship.

Picture shows a line of about 35 people holding placards outside of a Quaker Meeting House in Oxford, UK.

Picture shows placard with the words: 'Solidarity with Friends [Quakers] around the world, and with Friends [Quakers] outside New Scotland Yard in protest at a police raid at Westminster Meeting House last thursday'.

I am very happy to have an appreciation of the work of the anarchist Colin Ward - 'Colin Ward and the Sound of Anarchy' - in this new book on Ward from Five Leaves Press. The book has lots of other, excellent essays on Ward's anarchism.
