My wife and I had a debate about who of our new neighbors would be blowers when it came time, and I was once again optimistic and wrong.

Missed this when it came out, but so glad to have come across it in my local bookstore. Perfect read while thinking over a spring seminar on southern memoir.

Ellen Griffith Spears's BAPTIZED IN PCBs and RETHINKING THE AMERICAN ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT are both great.

Discussed this book with my Landscapes of the South class yesterday. An astonishingly beautiful book in so many ways. And one of the most interesting discussions I've ever had with students.

Sad to hear of the passing of the brilliant artist Larry Walker. One of the coolest experiences I've had at UA was getting to hear him talk about his life and art one winter evening in 2019.

Particularly depressing when the AI pushers are operating within humanities departments.

Teaching Robert Penn Warren this week in my southern studies survey. The words here go so far beyond place and era.

Started working today on something incredibly cool with colleagues across several departments, and there is something so exhilarating about projects that blast through disciplinary walls.

Everyone in my humanities building looks incredible today because it's finally cool enough out to wander around in cardigans and shawl collars.

I'm going to be "consulting" with my brilliant co-panelists at the SHA about it!

Really excited to be teaching a grad course on southern cultures this spring, but narrowing down to 13 books is so hard!

It's William Faulkner's birthday today. Wishing everyone some weird tarp-off, LA energy this Monday in his honor.

Oh fantastic! Mine was at the one on university, and they had apparently been taking walkins and just ran out

Yea! I have an appointment for the CVS near campus tomorrow evening since that's at least right on the way of my walk from office back home.

Not sure if you had yours yet today, but I got there for my appointment to find out that they don't actually have any of them
