Nebraska will be the "get right" game for Oregon next week. That's essentially the Nebraska brand anymore. And too many fans are happy with moral victories

If the A&M boosters get wild, can we start a campaign for them to hire Matt Rhule? The Texas high school coaches love him....

Scott @strigori.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Rhule ain't it. The moral victory crap is nauseating. Nothing shows Rhule can beat good teams. In year 4, and you can count the winning teams he's beaten on your fingers.

Rhule ain't it. Not that much has changed after 4 years.

We were never going to win this. Only pain exists. Indiana used the tried and true way to beat Nebraska, play conservative and don't screw up, and let Nebraska implode.

I heard it once, recently, against my will. And once was enough. Boring, paint by numbers modern country slop.

Good odds of it being a Nebraska opponent during the Frost debacle

Another metric showing how badly Nebraska is run. Top 20 in roster cost. Top 20 in coaching salaries. And struggles to get over .500.

Blasphemy! Every idea in a billionaire's head is the most brilliant thing ever. They are completely incapable of being wrong. Being surrounded by mindless Yes Men tell them that all the time.

These AI chuds can't seem to understand people actually enjoy things like reading, and it's not just a clout checklist. Or that people enjoy increasing their own abilities at things they enjoy, not having it done for them.

Trump let them remove the mask of decency. Too many people never saw the masks slip the way some of us did, and could see what they really were. If they thought you might be one of them, the mask would slip. I've seen so much of it, and even trying to point it out, would make me the bad guy.

The only good thing about that release is the studios got to leave, rather than all be fired. Other parts of that read like there's going to be more corporate fingers in dev rooms, and will probably a sameness like Ubisoft has had with games.

Reminds me of this exchange from Tombstone Wyatt Earp: What makes a man like Ringo, Doc? What makes him do the things he does? Doc Holliday: A man like Ringo has got a great big hole, right in the middle of him. He can never kill enough, or steal enough, or inflict enough pain to ever fill it.

For average voters, the moment someone starts talking policy or numbers, one of two things happen. 1 - Their eyes glaze over "boring" being the only thought 2 - They don't actually understand numbers, so they get offended "that politician thinks they're smarter than me"

The whole of country music exists as a propaganda machine to sell that exact narrative that only rural is real America.

if Texas Tech wins, all college sports are ruined. And with how the entire US sports systems are set up, that's down line consequences for the pro and Olympic sports that are really bad. All because a spoiled billionaire doesn't want to be told "no"

Because being allowed to gamble on the team a player plays for kills any idea that the games are fair, and not outright rigged. What's to then say a whole team bets on their opponent to win an outright huge upset? It ends the integrity of the product entirely.

Scott @strigori.bsky.social · 12/06/2026
And really, if the US didn't care about American Football, and soccer was our #1, the US top league would be the world's top league, like most of the rest of pro team sports.

From the type of things I've heard first hand over the years, I'm convinced it's because they think some TV show or movie is the reality for all black people. And they're absolutely terrified of the non-white parts of any town.

The high school teachers I know put a lot more blame on No Child Left Behind. Kids get to high school, and for the first time, not doing school work has a consequence. They don't just get to move on and graduate.

That's easy. Universities just need to become white only, male only, and have evangelical preaches control what courses are allowed to be taught.

One of the core reasons why Dems have bad connections, is too many come across as poll driven, and lack conviction. The exact trait that makes AOC and Mamdani so appealing to so many. They have ethics and conviction, and don't need polling to justify their stances. They lead.

Scott @strigori.bsky.social · 01/05/2026
Honestly, I think it's a sort of contempt. The whole way they build staff, it's a frat. If you don't have the right degree or the like, they view your opinion as worthless. They know better. They have polling data. Real world experience be damned. It's why they don't like AOC or Mamdani.

I went and did too much reading of the "source" material for it. And it gets dumber the more you read. But basically, if you hit things on a list a Brazilian guy didn't like, it's "ultra processed". You can even make ultra processed food from scratch in your own kitchen. Use of salt is 1 strike

The people who tend to be steeped in the right wing circles are not often smart. Because they have to willingly reject reality, consistently. There's such a huge difference between being ignorant (we're all ignorant of things) and being stupid. Stupid is very learning resistant.

Scott @strigori.bsky.social · 29/04/2026
The complete moron contingent also exists, but people really get mad if someone points out that some people are just so epically stupid they don't understand anything.

It's going to go way further than that. They're going to be eager participants in trying to silence criticism of Trump and the GOP going into midterms. I suspect that most of the "press corps" will be little more than propaganda machines. And be extremely adversarial to any dem.
