"If Trump figures out he can get something by hitting you, his first instinct is to see if he can get more by hitting you harder" is a dynamic we saw play out for the entirety of Trump 1, and everyone just completely forgot after 2021.

I really need to stress to Democrats that this does not work. Donald Trump is not going to stop calling you a tranny just because you released an ad saying you hate trannies too

I think fundamentally the problem with post liberal thinkers is that they seem to assume that vanquishing liberalism results in their enemies being converted or defeated and not becoming radicalized into enemies who no longer extend the mercies they once did.

@mugrimm.bsky.social had a more detailed response to this one but I'm just gonna point out that this underscores the extent to which 'socialisim' just means 'bad' to the right, they're not actually referring to any consistent package of policies or beliefs, it's just whatever they don't like.

One of my big takeaways from the first Trump administration is that 95% of Conservative Tough Guys are about two and a half tweets worth of mild pushback away from a complete emotional breakdown.

I think it's important to remember he knows exactly what's up and is obsessive about polling, and I would bet money the actual accepted definitions of socialism are more popular than he wants to address right now.

I have a cool idea for a video game. You are in a long corridor lined with doors. Behind each door is a giant open book. Written on each book are email addresses, PII, and credit card numbers of paying Unity Pro subscribers. I wonder what Unity's AI generator would do if asked to prototype this game

Fascists always fail, it's just a question of how much damage they do in the process. The individuals who have the power to make a difference at scale have demonstrated repeatedly that they're not willing to do so, the rest of us are doing our best to reduce harm but our ability is limited.

When you send a bug report to Unity, there's a heavily-recommended option to pack up and include a snapshot of the unity project. They send the whole thing, gigs of assets and all. Thinking about all the projects I sent copies to Unity over the years this way. I wonder if they were used for training

Hoping Trump dies and the current fash coalition falls apart before they can dismantle enough of the electoral systems to ensure de facto single-party Republican rule for the forseeable future but knowing there's not much we can do to affect either.

Did you know you only need a small brain to make silly little drawings?

4 panel comic:
Panel 1: pink blob guy on a table, pencil in their hands. Grey circle on a piece of paper and a glass of water on the table. They say “look here”
Panel 2: Proudly, they hold up the drawing of a grey blobby character on two stick legs up in the air. The pink blob says “I drew this!”
Panel 3: Satisfied they sit back down on the table. They now go “it’s not much, but..” The grey drawing looks a bit peeved because the drawer is calling it “not much”
Panel 4: But it’s okay, because now the pink blob is very pleased finally. He says “it came from my brain!” Holding the pencil up. The grey drawing blob is happy again, too. End well, all well!
