Speaking of cinema a local smaller cinema is doing a retrospective of his work and I need to stop by for some sessions. Specially for the Paranoia Agent one which is the only Satoshi Kon thing I haven't watched

First Jam Project, now a character voice by Norio Wakamoto. Eating good

Alexandria: A Hellenistic World by Phil Register. The newest one here. Really interesting concept of mixing up a first person perspective with the narrator contextualising the events. Supposedly it's covering lesser known histories from that era so waiting to see how it unfolds.

Totalus Rankium by Rob and Jamie. The one that inspired the Rule Persia one ( and that was inspired by Rex Factor which I havent seen) A ranking of Roman Emperors until the fall of Constantinople. Only a few episodes in, entertaining banter even if a bit shallow so far.

The History of China by Chris Stewart I think it's the to go podcast if you want a chronological covering of Chinese history, learned a lot of it that I would have never crossed otherwise. However it has a very big US lens and bias of it which gets worse as it comes closer to modern history. 1/2

Fall of Civilizations by Paul Cooper. Extremely high production, each hours long episode cover a Civilization with focus on some quite unknown to the west (eg. Majapahit). If I had a complain is that it seems quite focused on the rise and fall and doesn't cover the middle enough.

Strider @strider-ms.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

So You Think You Can Rule Persia by by Umberto Molinatti and Sariel Snowings. More light and casual, it solely covers the ruler's lives and ranks them with made up criteria. Pretty enjoyable though my personal nitpick is the pearl clutching when thing don't meet modern morality (eg. royal incest)

Strider @strider-ms.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Sure why not. This is my current rotation: History of Persia Podcast by Trevor Culley: Very in detail with deep focus on the cultural and religious aspects. However sometimes so dense that if I am on a particularly distracted day I lose track of all names and events..... 1/2

Strider @strider-ms.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

In a show with a lot fucked up shit happening this might be the most tragic of them all

120

Strider @strider-ms.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Terrible thing when you read a Fist of the North Star title and the thought that emerges in you is "Mood"

Strider @strider-ms.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

The extremly rare and elusive Kenshiro smile

130

Strider @strider-ms.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

I know this show is old, but in a long sequence of cool ass stuff it's very lame that it's insistent on the "women shouldn't fight" ethos

120

Strider @strider-ms.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Shotout at this goon breaking wasteland bandits stereotypes.

120

Strider @strider-ms.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Interesting villains this Fist of the North Star arc, solely because they are extremly empathic towards each others deaths.

Strider @strider-ms.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

As anyone written as many banger titles as whoever came up with this episode titles?

Time to support national releases. Really looking forward for thos one, specially knowing the anime diverges from the manga

I mean, I guess if you already have a school exclusively dedicated to card games you can also have fucking alchemy class, because I dunno reasons I don't make the rules.

In this school there are two ballrooms, and it seems one is reserved for the Yaoi and the other for the Yuri
