Call it contrarianism, call it a difference in taste, whatever, but ... that's not my favorite kill in the movie. It's cool and creative and vicious, but I prefer the kill where Jason punches through the guy's chest and then breaks his neck anyway.

I like the idea of the kill, but I never liked how Garris' kill LOOKS. There's something awkward about the way the special effects comes off that it comes down a peg for me. The one in FvJ is pure overkill and looks better to me, even if it is repetitive.

Aw, come on, the bed kill was pretty cool. Dude got taco'd backwards! I do agree it's a movie of its time, and mostly in painful ways, but I will never not get a smile when they finally face off at the end. It's what I wanted for almost twenty years. For that, I can give it a barely passing grade.

That's the magic of Friday the 13th that no other franchise has: you know what Elm Street or Halloween movies the fanbase loves. F13, EVERY movie is someone's favorite. And if you get the most joy from Part V, that ain't weird at all. That's part of being a Friday fan.

I don't always want to see Part V, but when I'm in the mood for the most lizard-brained, boobs-and-blood version of F13, that's the one. It's like they heard all the criticisms of the genre and turned up the dial on each one of them to maximum saturation.

Weeds. Those first couple of seasons were a lot of fun. Then it got way too over the top and strayed too far from its premise. I made it about halfway into the season after she burned down the neighborhood, and it was too much. Never even finished it.
