Another great series of #BlueLights is done, I don’t generally like bingeing shows but this quick-6 seemed like it was especially made for it. Sharp Eyes Save Lives. #SharpEyesSaveLives

There are times when this show loses me, but I cannot think of another one that does the action/tension of policing better. Just pure, unapologetic, seat-of-your-pants encounters that stay with you long after. A classic example of forgiving some flaws in light of it’s spectacular highs. #BlueLights

This show was as good as advertised, Abi Morgan does it again with a masterful show about marriage, loyalty and tradition. Plenty of material for a second season and the writing and cast most certainly deserve it. #TheSplitUp #SplitUp #BBC

Anyone watching #F-Ward? My initial reaction was not too great, but I’ve found the show steadily growing on me and improving each week. Then I found out it’s made by the team behind Bump, which I liked, a nice surprise. And who doesn’t love Anna Friel (but the whole cast is great).

Just got through the first episode of #TheSplitUp and wow, Abi Morgan has another smash on her hands it seems. Excellent writing and acting mark out the boundaries, but it also has an underlying confidence running through. Will be interesting to see who picks this one up stateside.

Hollywood has a patchy record when it comes to adapting British sitcoms for American audiences, but these shows are all ripe for U.S. remakes.

The #Reacher finale was good, but I can’t help but think it started better than it ended. As I’ve said before, I love the books, but I think the brutality and blood are easier to read about than see. This season featured some of the best episodes so far, but the finale got bogged down in blood IMHO.

So much to love from this celebration of my favorite medium. An embarrassment of riches, and win or lose, these shows offered so much joy and contemplation. Also worth noting, my favorite streamer (Apple TV) getting so much overlooked recognition. #WidowsBay

Finished #Settling out of New Zealand (narrated by Rainn Wilson!?!)…kind of a fun, crazy rom-com with a unique premise. Short, sweet and a little saccharine, but worth a watch…

I have often commented that #Silo can be maddeningly slow at times, but oh boy when things get going, this show just sings (maybe because of the contrast?). The last few episodes of season 3 have just been spectacular, elevating this show into sci-fi greatness. Also a bonus, final season preview!

I’m sure I’ll be in the minority here, but I wasn’t a big fan of #Furious on #Hulu. I acknowledge the great performances, but the story was just too dark and disturbing for me to enjoy. I stayed with it just out of curiosity, but ultimately this just wasn’t for me.

Working my way through #Spider-Noir (which is corny (on purpose?) and kind of mediocre despite the retro-cool aspect). But holy crap has #Amazon #Prime gone nuts with the commercials, like so bad it makes me want to stop watching altogether (and yes I know they offer ad-free). Absolutely ridiculous.

#Adults s2 is back on #FX & stronger than ever. There’s some real lightning-in-a-bottle magic here. The cast is so well defined, the writing is amazing, but the chemistry and chaos adds up to more than its parts. In a world that leans towards uncomfortable comedy, this is just lol funny, a rare gem.

Although it’s puzzling that the BBC decided to split season 2 into two chunks, I will take it however I can get it. The first 3 episodes were excellent, as-expected, and the last half drops on Sep 10 so a short wait. BritBox gets it in Oct and I’m assuming they will drop all 6 (Unless premier-only?)

Been working my way through #PerdiendoElJuicio, which was sold to me as a Spanish version of Attorney Woo (which I loved). I don’t think this is as endearing, but it has grown on me. I recommend subtitles rather than dub for English (of course) and it does have its charms.

Any Star Trek #StrangeNewWorlds fans out there? I really enjoyed the weekly rhythm of the first couple seasons, 3 was disappointing and now 4 just seems…unnecessarily weird? I feel like each week they are swinging for the fences and they should just be trying to get on base. I’ll still watching but…

The #Lucky finale on Apple dropped tonight. I honestly wasn’t sold on this show after the pilot, but it grew on me. Helped immensely by Taylor-Joy and Olyphant along with a smart script, the show delivers a tight, action-packed series with an amazing supporting cast. Another strong Apple entry.

Finally finished #TheHawk on Netflix and it was…a show I watched. Not as funny as Happy Gilmore, not as grounded as Stick. I feel like they needed to lean one way or the other and instead chose to split the middle, pleasing neither. I didn’t hate it, but seems like a lot of lost potential & talent.

With the recent demise of the TV Time show tracking app, I’ve been trying to find a worthy replacement. I tried IMDB for a bit but it lacked the ability to import my old data and a decent “watch next” summary page. So I’ve settled on Hobi Time which ticks those boxes (IOS/AND). Thoughts? hobiapp.com

Here is something I rarely do, re-watch an entire series (esp this soon after the first watch). I was extolling the virtues of this amazing show to some visiting relatives, and subsequently ended up watching the entire season, again. Loved it just as much and picked up on so many small things.

#RideOrDie on Prime recently dropped and it’s a fun, buddy-assassin? romp fit for summer. Most of the charm comes from the pairing of Spencer and Waddingham, the story felt a bit long at times but the show has lots of momentum and exotic locales. Solid summer filler.

While I am a big fan of “Cozy Mysteries”, #HairdresserMysteries on #BBCOne and #BritBox fails to connect (but maybe decent background filler?). Even the delightful Sally Phillips cannot lift this above average, but if you love this type of show (or Sally), it’s an easy watch. #CozyMysteries

Another unexpectedly great series has been #AWomanOfSubstance on Channel 4 (or #BritBox in US). Perhaps not quite as endearing as The Other Bennet Sister, but overall, an excellent show I’m looking forward to seeing more of. I guess this is turning into the summer of Period Pieces for me.

Holy crap this show is funny #AnnDroid I’ve only watched the first couple episodes, but Diane Morgan and Sue Johnston are comedy gold together. Genuinely funny comedy with heartwarming undertones. If you have access to #BBCOne don’t sleep on this one. Highly Recommended. #SueSueSue

I watch a lot of television and will try anything, most ends up being mediocre. But to quote this show #TwoYearsLater, “Some of life’s greatest joys come from the unexpected”. I knew nothing about this show & was floored. It follows a post-pandemic romance with all its complexity, simply fantastic.

#MaximumPleasureGuaranteed wrapped up tonight and I know a lot of people LOVED this show but I wasn’t quite as enamored. The casting was fantastic (esp Maslany) and the story (intentionally) crazy, but it just never struck me as “great”, but definitely good and worth watching. #AppleTV

#StarCity on #AppleTV (parallel spin-off to #ForAllMankind) has concluded its first season with mixed results. There were moments of greatness, but often were offset with long periods of drab, plodding story. I want to see more and have them lean into the big-swings that characterize this franchise.

I love when a show surprises me, and #TheOtherBennetSister from BBC/BritBox was just shockingly great. If it weren’t for #WidowsBay, this would be an easy pick for my favorite show all year (tie?). It’s not that it does anything new, but what it does is nearly flawless. Perfect casting, more please…

Finished #Elle on #Prime which is a fun, breezy prequel to Legally Blonde with a great soundtrack and colorful acting. I don’t know that anyone will be talking about this a year from now, but it’s a great summer binge, like a beach-read for the small screen.

I’ve had a rocky relationship with #TheBear over the years. While I appreciate its unconventional storytelling & well-drawn characters, the narrative often suffers in their wake. The last season finishes out on its own terms, you will likely not change your mind on it at this point but it’s fitting

#Silo on #AppleTV has returned for s3 and continues to be absolute top-shelf sci-fi, dystopian TV. This season embraces a dual-storyline and is guided by the masterful hand of Graham Yost. Although it can be maybe be slow at times, the production quality, acting and writing are fantastic.

So I finally caught up on #FROM and while I still enjoy the vibe and atmosphere, I can’t help but feel the story has been stretched too thin. Season 5 will be the end but when all is said and done, I wonder if there was a condensed, 3-season version of this with more punch. Still creepy and fun tho.

Just a quick note about my favorite new show of the year, #PONIES on #Peacock. Such a fun show with great writing, humor, and soundtrack. The leads Clarke and Richardson steal the show, I know smaller shows like this often get overlooked not being on Netflix but this one is absolutely worth seeking.
