We had the Apple II knock off of missile command called ABM on my grade 4 ('82-'83) classroom computers. The possibility of dying in nuclear hellfire was so accepted then, we were numb to the big picture. The early 80's were pretty messed up. It was bad enough to scare Reagan into disarmament talks.

They really don’t. Our riding boundaries are drawn by non-partisan agencies (Elections Canada, Elections Alberta et. al) that are answerable to the legislatures. Alberta’s riding boundary maps look pretty good.
