C61 New Bus Service Stirling Council is launching a two-year pilot of two new bus services to improve connections between rural communities in the western part of the council area, from the 30th March For more information www.stirling.gov.uk/connectingcommunities
C61 New Bus Service

Stirling Council is launching a two-year pilot of two new bus services to improve connections
between rural communities in the western part of the council area.

The new in-house services will be called the C61 and the C62 and will start operating on
Monday 30 March.
They will build on the current C60 pilot (that runs between Callander and Killin) and will
operate on the following routes:

• C61: Callander -Thornhill - Port of Menteith - Aberfoyle (with bookable/on demand
journeys between Aberfoyle and Kinlochard).
• C62: Croftamie – Drymen – Balfron Station – Balfron – Fintry – Kippen.

Both services will use all recognised bus stops along these routes and will link to existing

public transport provision following feedback from recent public consultations in this area.

Later journeys have been added to help accommodate young people attending after-school clubs and other activities.

The new services will replace existing demand responsive transport (DRT) services between these communities. Pending the success of the pilot, the new service will ultimately replace
the current DRT service.

Passengers on both services can pay using debit or credit cards (not Amex). All National Entitlement Cards (NEC) will be accepted. Drivers will be unable to accept cash for fares.

The new services will be funded via existing budget allocations for DRT provision.

For more information on the new C61 and C62 services, including timetables, and how to use the DRT system, visit:

This is really important because Aberfoyle PS doesn’t have a defibrillator, please support if you can! If your community or school is in need of a defibrillator, they would love to hear from you . Please email: stir.paramedicsociety@gmail.com. You can donate here 24 Hour CPR-a-Thon

CPR-a-thon

Students from the Paramedic Society are taking on a 24‑hour CPR‑a‑thon to raise much‑needed funds for defibrillators in Stirling. Come along anytime between 11am on Monday 9th March and 11am on Tuesday 10th March to learn CPR, get involved, and support this fantastic project.

The Paramedic Society will also be using CPR mannequins with breasts. Research shows that people with breasts are less likely to receive bystander CPR, often due to uncertainty or hesitation. Studies highlight a clear gender‑based disparity in emergency response from the public, with research identifying concerns about hand placement and fear of causing offence as common barriers. By offering training with anatomically representative mannequins, the Society aims to help reduce this inequality and improve CPR confidence across all body types, with their recent Stirling Award grant helping to support this work.

If your community or school is in need of a defibrillator, they would love to hear from you .

Community Development Officer

We are excited to have new funding from the National Lottery to recruit a community development officer to work with us in our small rural community of Strathard. We work in and between the villages of Aberfoyle, Kinlochard, Stronachlachar and Inversnaid. There are a number of ongoing projects for you to pick up and build on and lots of potential for you to develop. We have a vibrant Board of Directors with skills, enthusiasm and commitment to support you.

We are looking for someone with an understanding of the challenges of rural village life and the drive and vision to make a difference.

We are offering a part time, fixed term contract, initially for 1 year, on a freelance basis. You can work out of our Business Hub on Aberfoyle Main Street as well as from home.

If this sounds interesting we would love to talk to you. To kick things off contact Gillian Kynoch, Strathard Community Trust by email:
