Signs you've been with your partner for a very long time #1. Receiving a Valentine's card arouses suspicion and thoughts of psychological warfare.

Get a Mac they said. All your problems will be solved they said. I've got to say I've not been that impressed switching back to a Mac from PC. Safari is a nightmare. When so much work is online it keeps screwing me over. Need some time to figure out optimal settings for everything!

I woke up yesterday freaking out. My vision was blurred and I couldn't get it to correct. My wife booked an optometrist appointment for me. I was panicking and pretty upset. But there is a happy ending. Turns out Chris is middle-age and needs reading glasses. 🤓

Only in New Zealand. My friend just messaged me and asked if I wanted to go for a coffee. She lives out of town, but is coming into the city. The reason? To pick up some dead native birds from the airport which have been flown from an Island where they are pests. This is fully on-brand for her.

Tell me your favourite hip-hop album and then tell me why it's Midnight Marauders. Big 3-0!
The front cover of A True Called Quest's 1993 album - Midnight Marauders. Includes a jet-black figure painted in fluorescent green and red in a faux zebra stripe. Behind are a number of iconic hip-hop artists with can-style headphones. Their expressions allude to listening to a preview of the album and being blown-away by it. Artists including Beastie Boys, Africa Bambaata, Ice T, De La Soul and many others.

Don't discard your ideas. When imposter syndrome creeps in, fearing they're not good enough, it's easy to feel discouraged about sharing them. But without sharing your ideas, you'll never really know. If your gut tells you there's something in it, you owe it to yourself to set that sucker free!

I just closed 1274 tabs on Google Chrome on mobile. 🤯 I knew there was a lot open so I counted each one as I closed it. I now feel motion sick from the tabs moving across each time I shut one down. I don't know it was even possible to have this many tabs open. 😫

This advice will help 80% of people improve their customer interviews: Focus less on asking the questions and more on listening and responding. It's a 'discussion framework' not 'a list of questions'.

If you're a designer you should be doing side projects. I think about them in three buckets. Go and have a read of the new issue of Radical Things to find out what they are. open.substack.com/pub/radicalt...

Any design post containing "the real world" is an instant red flag to me. Why? Because generally it indicates an anti-theory or anti-academic position. Theory enables new practices to evolve and develop. And your 'real world' is a tiny slice of something bigger. Success requires praxis.

Somebody posted an amazingly marked-up copy of this book on LI. I felt fully inspired to get back into it. It's not an easy read, but it's certainly a rewarding one. Anyone who says Boyd is only about the (tactical) OODA loop and not strategy is off their rockers. 🤯
