You can definitely run a degoogled Android OS on a Fairphone. But there are other reasons Fairphones are good: they're repairable and the company does its best to source the components ethically. Definitely worth considering!

My take on Benny Russell is that he literally is Sisko. Sisko is one-half a non-linear entity: he can be simultaneously 1950s pulp scifi write and a 2370s Starfleet captain. M'Benga's Boltzmann brain theory is pretty speculative. Maybe the whole thing is actually Prophet related?

(I said this already elsewhere but) The story concludes with King Ridley realizing the Mercury Stone is alive and deciding he needs to free it rather than keep it enslaved. I absolutely believe Benny Russell would write a children's book about that.

I do like it, because DS9 was ambiguous about whether Benny was real or Sisko's vision. SNW has spelled it out: he was real. Also, The Elysian Kingdom isn't "a shallow, rote fantasy novel." It's a children's fairy tale featuring Black representation and a moral twist ending about freedom.

Maybe it was hard for me to buy Four and a Half Vulcans as traumatic for La'an because it's such a silly episode. Once La'an a Time is a silly episode too, but it's easier to buy silly as cathartic than traumatic, I guess.
