Javier Romero @strangemagic.bsky.social · 08/10/2025Of course, I’m happy if anyone hears of likes any of it, but honestly, I’m just glad it’s out there. 010
Javier Romero @strangemagic.bsky.social · 08/10/2025That how and why I’ve been able to make so much music in the past few years. There’s just a floodgate that’s been opened, and it’s been fun to just make stuff. 100
Javier Romero @strangemagic.bsky.social · 08/10/2025It’s like saying “I’ve got so and so song in my head” but only you’ve heard the song and it doesn’t even have a name. Which until recently has been frustrating. 100
Javier Romero @strangemagic.bsky.social · 08/10/2025My brain just loves making music. It’s only been very recently, as in the last 10 years or so, that I’ve been able to effectively translate what’s in my head onto a recording. It’s so satisfying and liberating to make these things tangible. 100
Javier Romero @strangemagic.bsky.social · 08/10/2025I didn’t bother to learn any instruments until my teens but I remember as a kid being able to quickly pick out and learn lines on the keyboard. 100
Javier Romero @strangemagic.bsky.social · 08/10/2025I developed a nervous habit of pounding the now legendarily ubiquitous Amen Break beat on any surface. 100
Javier Romero @strangemagic.bsky.social · 08/10/2025I’d always have little parts going relative to one another. A bass line and a melody part and some drums. Always. I’d sometimes mash up popular songs with other songs. 100
Javier Romero @strangemagic.bsky.social · 08/10/2025Did I mention that I grew up wearing a hearing aid? That’s maybe a story for another time… 100
Javier Romero @strangemagic.bsky.social · 08/10/2025I remember being in grade school just wandering alone in the playground, chattering and chomping my teeth in a manner of making drum beats that only I could hear. 100
Javier Romero @strangemagic.bsky.social · 08/10/2025Something I need you to know about me is that for as long as I can remember I’ve been making music in my head. 130
