Thanks for the supplemental data. It does move the needle. I still maintain the method for paying for road maintenance should be the same for all vehicles: usage. EVs can accurately provide miles driven data that could be used to calculate a tax/surcharge. Basing it on vehicle value is dumb.

Here is my beef…the gas tax is based on how much a person drives. The EV surcharge is based on the value of the vehicle. It makes no sense. On average an ICE vehicle operator incurs $115 in state gas tax per year. The minimum EV surcharge is $150. Why should EV drivers pay more?

Sweet looking dough my guy! May I ask what recipe you use? I’ve been baking whole wheat sandwich loaves for years now and have only recently been getting into sourdough and other higher hydration breads. My dough never looks as nice as yours though. It sags and gets stuck in the banneton. Any tips?

At this moment, you’ve lost me as a voter. If the midterms were today, I would only vote in local elections and none at the federal level. Dem leadership is laughable. If you and your colleagues want to inspire voters you should be publicly calling for leadership change.

While I appreciate @smith.senate.gov and @amyklobuchar.com you not voting to give up the only leverage you had, what your colleagues did does not inspire confidence. If there was an election tomorrow, I would not turn out to vote. I have no confidence Dem leaders get it.

@smith.senate.gov @klobuchar.senate.gov Axios is running a story that Dems are going to vote to reopen the government. As a constituent, I’m making my opinion clear: do not vote to reopen the government until and unless you have a written agreement from the GOP to extend the ACA tax credits.

He files a federal claim against the government stating that the FCC violated his first amendment rights by coercing ABC to cancel his show. There was an NRA case in recently years where SCOTUS specifically ruled the government cannot coerce a private company to punish a citizen for protected speech

This is a long time coming. Too long. Better late than never though. Rivian needs to get the R2 out as quickly as possible (while maintaining quality) so they can capitalize on some of the anti-Tesla sentiment out there. Plus they are amazing vehicles! At least the R1’s are.

At Xmas, for the first time in my life, I saw my conservative dad read the ingredients on a bag of Cheetos and state there should be fewer ingredients. In a matter of mere minutes he ended up in talking about the need to have fewer regulations. That’s how I know MAHA is all talk.

SLC’s food scene did not live up to my expectations for a city of its size when we road tripped through there this summer. It made Grand Junction (next stop on the trip) look like a food oasis.
